Charlotte Flair Officially Set for Royal Rumble Return – On the January 24 episode of WWE SmackDown, it was announced via a vignette that the former WWE Women’s Champion will make her highly anticipated return as a participant in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
The vignette featured Flair explaining why her unwavering confidence is rooted in her proven track record, dismissing any notions of arrogance.
Flair has been out of action since suffering a devastating knee injury during a match against Asuka on the December 8, 2023, episode of SmackDown. The injury, described as a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, required surgery and kept her sidelined for over a year.
The Queen is now aiming to make history as the first-ever two-time winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble. Flair initially achieved a landmark feat in 2022 when she competed in the Rumble as the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion. Although her goal to win and select her challenger for WrestleMania fell short, Flair went on to face that year’s winner, Ronda Rousey, in a high-profile showdown.
Flair’s return adds a significant level of star power to the upcoming Royal Rumble, which will emanate from Indianapolis, IN, on February 1. As one of WWE’s most decorated competitors, she’s poised to make an immediate impact and set her sights on another WrestleMania main event.
