Bandido Explains the Origin of His 21 Plex Finisher – Bandido’s 21 Plex finishing move has long been one of the most electrifying maneuvers in professional wrestling, earning him widespread praise and leading to major championship victories in both Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Ring of Honor (ROH). The luchador’s creativity and athleticism have made the 21 Plex a signature weapon in his arsenal, helping to solidify his status as one of the most dynamic performers in the industry.
During a recent appearance on Hey! (EW) with RJ City, Bandido shared the personal story behind the name of his iconic move. The number “21” holds sentimental value tied to his family.
“Twenty-one is the number my father wore when he played football,” Bandido explained. “When I was a kid, I thought, if I ever became a professional soccer player, I would use that number on my shirt.” Though wrestling became his path instead of soccer, Bandido found a unique way to honor his father by incorporating the number into the name of his finishing maneuver.
Currently, Bandido is sidelined with a concussion sustained during ROH Final Battle in December. While no official return date has been set, updates regarding his recovery and return to action will be provided as they become available. Fans eagerly await his return, hoping to see more of the incredible 21 Plex in action.
