Backstage Update on PCO's Outburst at GCW Event

Backstage Update on PCO’s Outburst at GCW Event – More details have surfaced regarding PCO’s controversial actions at a recent GCW event, where the TNA star destroyed the TNA Digital Media Championship and delivered a heated promo. According to Fightful Select, neither TNA nor GCW were aware of PCO’s intentions, leaving both promotions displeased with the incident.

PCO allegedly informed GCW prior to his segment that the promo would advance a storyline for TNA. However, it became apparent afterward that this was not the case. The report indicates that TNA officials were “shocked” and “livid” about the unsanctioned destruction of the title, with speculation arising that PCO’s actions were fueled by frustration over his contract not being renewed. His contract with TNA reportedly expired at the end of 2024, and he was scheduled to complete his commitments at upcoming tapings in San Antonio, Texas. Following the incident, PCO’s return to TNA has been canceled.

Fightful notes that the championship PCO destroyed was a replica, and the official TNA Digital Media Championship remains intact. PCO, who won the title at Slammiversary in July 2024, was set to drop the championship at the San Antonio tapings. Instead, the title has now been vacated. His last defense came at Bound for Glory in November, where he successfully retained against Matt Cardona.

As noted yesterday, PCO has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the new management in TNA Wrestling, expressing his frustration on X. In a post, he compared the old regime under Scott D’Amore, whom he referred to as the “architect,” with the current leadership, noting that while he still admires the roster, production, and creative teams, he feels the new management is lacking. He shared, “Eventually, you will understand, I am a fan of the Hardys and that Roster is so awesome, The production team and Creative team in TNA just so good, the new management ehhhnn. Scott D’Amore was the architect. You need to get your evidence before judging.”

PCO also confirmed a report from last month about TNA asking wrestlers to take pay cuts. Referring to an incident with veteran wrestler Rhino, PCO revealed, “70/100 paycut ! Asked Rhino,” further emphasizing the financial strain some talent experienced under the new regime. Rhino, who had been with TNA for years, has since finished up with the company.

The fallout from this situation may have broader implications for PCO’s wrestling career and his relationships with both TNA and GCW. Fans will be watching closely to see how the vacated championship is handled and whether PCO addresses his actions publicly.
