AEW Dynamite Sees Viewership Boost on January 8, 2025 – AEW Dynamite experienced an uptick in viewership for its January 8, 2025, episode. According to Wrestlenomics, the show attracted 615,000 viewers, marking a rise from the previous week’s 588,000. Additionally, the show scored a 0.17 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, up from the 0.16 rating in the same group from the prior episode.
Despite competing against a highly anticipated NBA game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers on ESPN, which garnered 1.87 million viewers, AEW Dynamite managed to draw good numbers. It’s important to note that viewership data doesn’t include streaming numbers from Max, where the show has been simulcasting since January 1.
The episode featured a dynamic start with Will Ospreay securing a victory over Buddy Matthews in a thrilling singles match. Powerhouse Hobbs took the spotlight in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match, emerging victorious and earning a future AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxley on the following week’s Dynamite.
In the women’s division, Kris Statlander triumphed in a three-way match against Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale, earning the number-one spot in next week’s Women’s Casino Gauntlet match.
The night concluded with a dramatic return from Kenny Omega, who was swiftly interrupted by Don Callis. The tension escalated as Omega was attacked by the Don Callis Family, only for Ospreay to make a timely appearance, saving Omega and setting up a dramatic end to the episode.
