WWE Considering CM Punk Vs Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 41 – Speculation surrounding CM Punk’s role at WrestleMania 41 has intensified, with reports suggesting a potential World Title match against Roman Reigns at the marquee event. WrestleVotes, during a recent Backstage Pass Q&A, noted WWE’s intent to position Punk in a championship bout at the show.
Roman Reigns, meanwhile, has been linked to other high-profile matches, including potential encounters with The Rock or Solo Sikoa. However, The Rock is reportedly not scheduled to compete at WrestleMania, while Reigns and Sikoa are set to clash in Tribal Combat on January 6 for RAW’s Netflix debut.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has since reported that discussions about Punk facing Reigns at WrestleMania 41 have gained traction in recent weeks. According to Sapp, “We’d heard a number of weeks ago that this wasn’t particularly the plan, but had been adjusted of late. We’re told that CM Punk had also hoped for the match.”
The proposed match would mark a significant shift in WWE’s creative plans, which previously did not include The Rock. However, if The Rock becomes available for WrestleMania, it could lead to a reshuffling of the card.
Punk’s relationship with Reigns has been a topic of intrigue for years. During his now-infamous interview on Colt Cabana’s podcast, Punk referred to being told to “make Roman look strong” during his WWE run. Fightful also reported that Reigns was not particularly enthusiastic about Punk’s return to WWE last year.
At Survivor Series: WarGames, Punk briefly aligned with Reigns and the OG Bloodline, battling the New Bloodline as a favor to Paul Heyman. Whether this alliance plays into a WrestleMania storyline remains to be seen, but all eyes are on what could be a blockbuster main event.
