World Heavyweight Title Match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Now a Triple Threat – The stakes for GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship defense at Saturday Night’s Main Event intensified on 12/9 WWE RAW when General Manager Adam Pearce announced a major change to the match. Originally set as a one-on-one bout against Finn Balor, Pearce revealed that Damian Priest would now be part of the match, turning it into a high-stakes triple threat.
The episode opened with GUNTHER delivering a promo, where he took shots at Balor for “playing second fiddle to Priest” and bringing up Balor’s brief World Heavyweight Championship reign in 2016, which ended after just one day due to injury. Judgment Day appeared poised to attack GUNTHER, but Damian Priest’s entrance music interrupted their plans. Priest confronted his stablemates on the ramp, starting with Balor, and began dismantling the group. However, GUNTHER quickly capitalized, taking down Priest in the ring with a thunderous clothesline before launching a brutal assault.
The chaos culminated with Judgment Day gaining the upper hand. Balor seized the moment, holding up GUNTHER’s championship in a clear display of defiance. Later backstage, Pearce confronted Judgment Day and dropped a bombshell: Priest would officially join the title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Additionally, Pearce announced that Balor and JD McDonagh would defend their WWE Tag Team Championships on the next episode of RAW against the War Raiders, with the rest of Judgment Day banned from ringside.
With tensions running high and alliances fractured, Saturday Night’s Main Event promises to deliver an explosive clash for the World Heavyweight Championship.
