Will WrestleMania 41 Welcome Another Big NFL Collaboration? – WrestleMania 40 more than lived up to expectations. After years of sure and steady build-up, April 6 and 7 delivered a stacked showcase of wrestling action, grudge matches, returning legends of the company, and more than its fair share of celebrity appearances. All of this combined to make it the most-streamed entertainment event on Peacock ever, collecting 1.3 billion minutes of viewing time to set a new record.
While it was a big one, being the 40th and whatnot, expectations are exceedingly high for WrestleMania 41. Not only will it be just the second time the colossal entertainment event has been staged in Sin City itself – the last being WrestleMania IX in 1993 – but it’ll also be the first WrestleMania to be put out by Netflix internationally. The streamer will want to tap into every promo opportunity possible, which may circle the company back to the NFL.
Special Appearances Bolster WrestleMania 41
It’s tough to understate just how well WrestleMania 40 delivered on the hype, and then some. Even during a hotly anticipated main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, The Undertaker would appear to chokeslam The Rock as part of the chaos all around. Perhaps proving the eternal appeal of WrestleMania and its ability to draw in people and fans beyond the weekly RAW audiences was best showcased by some other special arrivals.
Taking place at Lincoln Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a recently-retired Super Bowl LVII runner-up who battled with the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12, 2023 – about two months before WrestleMania XL – took to the stage. Eagles center Jason Kelce and offensive tackle Lane Johnson came on during the Night 1 events to help out Rey Mysterio and Andrade.
Kelce wasn’t even familiar with the event prior, according to the SI write-up, but put in the work to learn some basics first. Initially, it was Johnson who was the main NFL guest appearance in the works. So, perhaps anyone who’s interested and can bring some extra appeal to the stage would be considered. Along with the two NFL stars, rapper and Philly native Meek Mill and Snoop Dogg also featured throughout.
Another NFL Stadium and Chance to Infuse Guests
We’re almost certain about a couple of guest superstars for WrestleMania 41 on April 19–20, 2025. John Cena’s retiring in 2025, having been a part-time feature since 2018, so he’ll likely show up. Many are also looking to The Rock making an appearance at WrestleMania. Given the praise the WWE received from bringing out some NFL stars last year, the 2025 event at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, might just call in some more stars.
The two Eagles stars arrived after going to the Super Bowl to appear at their team’s home WrestleMania. That might be a bit difficult to emulate for the home team in 2025. The Las Vegas Raiders started the season 2-10 to sit rock bottom of the AFC West. As of December 2, online betting site Betway has an AFC West as the second-favorite at +375 to win the Super Bowl, while the division odds heavily back the Kansas City Chiefs and don’t feature the Raiders at all.
That isn’t to say that the Raiders don’t have some stars to latch onto. Jakobi Meyers is often close to evens to score an anytime touchdown in games, while Maxx Crosby remains elite-tier in the NFL, and Brock Bowers has made quite the impression in his rookie season. Still, maybe it’d be better to look to Nevada-born stars. Both Ronnie Stanley and Kyle Van Noy hail from Las Vegas and are in with a shot of the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens at +1100.
Another celebrity with close ties to both entities is Samantha Irvin. The WWE RAW ring announcer has performed at the Allegiant Stadium before, singing the national anthem on October 13. Another celebrity who is conveniently located with close ties to the WWE is Mike Tyson. The Las Vegas resident was a guest host for RAW in 2010, played a special enforcer at WrestleMania XIV, is in the WWE Hall of Fame, and Yahoo! reports he’s targeting Logan Paul.
WrestleMania 41 will be vying for a show that levels that of WrestleMania 40 in its Netflix debut. Bringing in the heft of some NFL stars would surely work again, as would drawing on the talents of Irvin and Tyson again.
