Tessa Blanchard Leaves CMLL, TNA Return Imminent – Tessa Blanchard has officially parted ways with CMLL, vacating the Women’s Tag Team Championship she held alongside Lluvia. The promotion confirmed Blanchard’s departure on Friday, adding that the titles are now vacant. New champions will be crowned in 2025, marking the second time the belts have been vacated since their inception. Earlier this year, Stephanie Vaquer and Zeuxis also relinquished the titles when Vaquer left for WWE NXT.
Reports indicate that Blanchard is on her way back to TNA Wrestling. Dave Meltzer noted that she has signed with the promotion and could make an appearance as early as tonight’s Final Resolution event in Atlanta, with additional opportunities at Saturday’s TV taping. Blanchard previously worked with TNA (then known as Impact Wrestling) from 2018 to 2020, where she became both a World Champion and Knockouts Champion. Her first run ended controversially when TNA terminated its relationship with her in June 2020 amid allegations of unprofessional conduct.
Blanchard and Lluvia had held the CMLL Women’s Tag Team Championships since August, but Blanchard has been absent from the ring in recent weeks. Her last CMLL match took place on November 22. If she returns to TNA, it will be her first major U.S. wrestling stint since her departure from the company over three years ago.
Fans will be watching closely to see how Blanchard reintegrates into the TNA roster and whether her return can help elevate the Knockouts division. Her reappearance would add a significant boost to TNA’s ongoing efforts to reinvigorate its brand.
