Spoiler on New Year’s Evil Title Match – The next WWE New Year’s Evil special is slated for January 7, 2025, at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California. Unlike a traditional premium live event, WWE will present it as a themed episode of NXT TV, continuing its tradition of blending marquee matches into weekly programming.
Following their respective victories at NXT Deadline, Oba Femi and Giulia secured championship opportunities for this special event. Femi earned his title shot by winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, setting him up to challenge Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. Giulia won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, guaranteeing her a match against NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
However, Tuesday night’s tapings of the December 24th episode of NXT revealed a major change to the men’s title match. An announcement was made during the show that the NXT Championship bout will now be a triple threat. Trick Williams will defend his title against both Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe.
The shift in the championship match comes as a result of this week’s NXT episode, where a match between Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe ended in a controversial double-pinfall. This outcome forced WWE officials to add Thorpe to the high-stakes match, creating even more intrigue for New Year’s Evil.
With two major title bouts and a stacked card anticipated, New Year’s Evil promises to kick off 2025 in dramatic fashion, continuing to spotlight NXT’s rising stars.
