Pat McAfee Returning to WWE Full-Time – During the Netflix & WWE Lunch and Learn presentation on Wednesday, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed that Pat McAfee will be returning to WWE as a full-time member of the Monday Night Raw broadcast team. McAfee, a former NFL punter and well-known sports personality, took a break from WWE earlier this year to host ESPN’s College GameDay. Prior to his hiatus, he had been a beloved figure on both Raw and SmackDown broadcasts, where his high-energy and charismatic commentary earned him a strong following.
Triple H made the announcement during the presentation, saying, “Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now, Pat’s actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night Raw.” This marks a significant moment for Raw, as McAfee’s return brings a fresh dynamic to the commentary team.
Currently, the Raw broadcast team includes Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett. It remains to be seen how WWE will reorganize the team to integrate McAfee’s return. WWE has not provided a specific date for McAfee’s reappearance on the show, but his return could coincide with the Monday Night Raw debut on Netflix, scheduled for January 6, 2025. Given that McAfee is still involved with ESPN for the duration of the NCAA football season, which runs through January 20, 2025, it’s likely that he will juggle his commitments with both networks as his transition to Raw progresses.
McAfee’s return adds an exciting element to WWE’s broadcast, with fans eagerly anticipating the return of his dynamic and infectious presence on Monday nights.
