Nick Khan Says WWE Programming Will Stay PG

Nick Khan Says WWE Programming Will Stay PG – WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night RAW, is officially moving to Netflix in January 2025, marking a new chapter for the long-running program. The premiere episode on the streaming platform is set for January 6, live from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. This transition ends WWE’s long-standing partnership with the USA Network and raises questions about how the shift might influence the show’s content and presentation.

Speculation has circulated among fans that RAW might adopt edgier content on Netflix, given the platform’s fewer restrictions compared to traditional cable TV. However, WWE President Nick Khan put those rumors to rest during an interview with Sports Illustrated. Khan confirmed that WWE’s programming will remain PG, emphasizing the company’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment.

“We’re not changing the rating of our programming,” Khan stated. “There’s some online chatter about, oh, it’s gonna be R-rated, or for us old folks, like X-rated. That’s definitely not happening. So it’s family-friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s gonna stay that way. I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship [with Netflix] continues to develop.”

The premiere episode is expected to be a blockbuster event, featuring top stars such as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and John Cena. WWE plans to stack the show with high-profile matches and appearances to generate excitement for this historic debut on Netflix.

The move signals WWE’s continued evolution in how it delivers content, leveraging Netflix’s global reach while maintaining its established brand identity. Fans can expect the same multi-generational appeal but with opportunities for innovative presentation as WWE enters this new era.
