Mina Shirakawa Reflects on AEW Run – Mina Shirakawa, a renowned name in professional wrestling and a former Wonder of STARDOM Champion, has quickly become a notable figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Over the past few months, Shirakawa has consistently featured on AEW programming, transitioning from a close ally to a bitter rival of current AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May.
At AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming, Shirakawa faced May in a high-stakes battle for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Despite a valiant effort, Shirakawa fell short, allowing May to extend her championship reign. May’s next challenge comes in the form of former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa, signaling an exciting continuation of the division’s competitive landscape.
In a recent interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Shirakawa reflected on her experience in AEW and the warm reception she has received from fans. The former Future of STARDOM Champion expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and her joy at seeing the audience embrace her.
“Yeah. So, [the] first time to wrestle in ROH is [the] debut for American Wrestling ring. Maybe first time [the] fans saw me, ‘Oh, who is she?’ Maybe that they know that STARDOM. The name of STARDOM. But now, my music hits, many fans [are] cheering [for] me. And I heard backstage. ‘Oh! I am so happy.’ And yeah, I wanted to be here more and more,” Shirakawa said.
Mina Shirakawa’s presence in AEW adds another dynamic layer to the women’s division, and her ambition to remain part of the promotion promises more compelling rivalries and memorable moments for fans.
