LIVE 12/27 WWE SmackDown Results – We start off with a look at the issues between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. We see what happened last week.
Backstage:
Nick Aldis says that Kevin Owens claims he is a champion but that is wrong. Nick says Kevin is in possession of the Winged Eagle belt and it means a lot to many people. It was given to Cody as a gesture of trust and Kevin as no claim for that belt. Nick gives Kevin an ultimatum and he says that Kevin has until the end of the night to surrender the Winged Belt or it will significantly affect your career in WWE.
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is with Naomi and Bianca Belair. She asks what did the win last week mean for them. Naomi says it meant so much that she could do it with her best friend after everything that happened to Jade. Bianca says Naomi stepped up to make sure the title stayed with her. She says she hasn’t forgotten about what happened to Jade. Naomi says it is good that she has friend from her ‘unofficial’ tag partner against Nia, Tiffany, and Candice.
We are live from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, as Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Bayley make their way to the ring to start the show. Candice LeRae, Tiffany Stratton, and Nia Jax follow.
Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Bayley vs.Candice LeRae, Tiffany Stratton, and Nia Jax
Before the match, Nia asks Bianca when will she give it up. None of them attacked Jade. Tiffy couldn’t help them win the tag titles last week so how could she attack Jade? You seem to be doing well with Jade gone to oblivion and you are still the champion. You found a new tag partner. You are trying to push the blame away from you. She comes in and you can’t share the spotlight with you. She is bigger, stronger, and better than you. You snapped. Nia says she would do the same thing. Let’s stop pointing fingers and admit it. Nia asks Bianca to own up to the attack or she will make her own up to it.
Tiffany and Bianca start things off and they lock up. Bianca with a side head lock take down and Tiffany with a head scissors. Tiffany with a side head lock take down and Bianca with a waist lock and take down. Bianca gets a near fall. Bianca with a slam and she goes for the handspring moonsault but Tiffany moves and goes to the floor. Bayley with a cross body onto Candice and Bianca with a pescado to Tiffany. Naomi with a kick to Nia.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Bianca backs Nia into the corner and she punches Nia from the turnbuckles. Naomi tags in and she hits a hesitation drop kick followed by a stink face. Nia pushes Naomi away and Nia with a spinebuster for a near fall. Candice tags in and kicks Naomi and kicks her. Naomi with a jaw breaker and a bulldog into the turnbuckles. Bianca tags in and then Naomi comes back in and they go for a double suplex and hit it. Noami with a split legged split and Bianca with a handspring moonsault for a near fall. Bianca with a shoulder in the corner and she punches Candice.
Tiffany distracts Bianca and Candice drops Bianca on the turnbuckles. Nia tags in and hits a leg drop for a near fall. Nia with forearms to the back. Candice tags in and hits a missile drop kick. Tiffany tags in and htis an elbow drop for a near fall. Tiffany yells at Candice and says she is trying to help. She knocks Naomi off the apron. Tiffany plays tug of war with Bianca’s hair and Bianca with a punch. Bayley and Candice tag in and Bayley with forearms and a rollup into a knee. Bayley with a Saito suplex and she goes to the floor for a drop kick through the ropes but Candice blocks it and slams Bayley’s head into the ring post.
Candice with punches to Bayley and she tags Nia back in. Nia with a head butt to the ribs and then Nia sits on Bayley in the ropes. Candice tags in and Bayley with a forearm on the apron. Candice with a running DDT on the apron. Candice gets a near fall. Candice stomps on the back and chokes Bayley in the ropes. Nia tags in and punches Bayley. Nia with a slam after Bayley gives Candice a back elbow. Nia slams Bayley’s head into the mat and Nia sits on Bayley for a near fall. Nia with an Irish whip and a running hip into the corner and then she grinds on Bayley. Bayley with a forearm but Nia with a head butt.
Candice tags in and gets a near fall. Tiffany tags in and kicks Bayley in the corner. Nia tags in and it frustrates Tiffany. Nia smothers Bayley in the corner. Nia with a reverse chin lock. Candice tags in and she applies a front face lock. Bayley with a punch but Candice with a forearm. Candice knocks Bianca off the apron. Bayely kicks Nia and connects with a forearm. Bayley with a cutter in the ropes to Candice. Nia grabs Bayley but Bayley kicks Nia away and she crawls to the corner. Tiffany and Naomi tag in and Naomi with a clothesline and a springboard round kick. Naomi slides under Tiffany and Naomi with a mule kick followed by a Tiger Feint bulldog for a near fall. Tiffany with a forearm.
Nia tags in and Naomi kicks her. Tiffany with a sit out power bomb and Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex to Tiffany. Candice with a facebuster to Bayley. Naomi with a rana from the turnbuckles followed by a split legged moonsault for a near fall that is broken up by Tiffany. Tiffany with a pescado onto Naomi. Tiffany sees Nia down in the ring and she goes for the briefcase and she goes into the ring but Candice takes it from her and pulls her off the apron.
Tiffany tells Candice she wants to be champion. Candice tags in and then Naomi with a Bubba Bomb while Tiffany is pulled off the apron and Naomi gets the three count.
Winners: Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Bayley
We see Tiffany, Candice, and Nia disappointed on the floor while.
Backstage:
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are with Nick Aldis and Waller has an invoice for what happened last week. Nick tells Waller to take it up wtih Braun if he has any issues. Nick tells Theory he should get ready for his match with Braun and then there is a knock on the door that Nick says he has to deal with. Sami Zayn shows up and he says that they should talk.
We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Sami says he is not trying to put Nick in a hard spot. He is supposed to be on Raw when the Bloodline is supposed to be on Smackdown. He says he wants to deal with the Bloodline tonight.
Carmelo Hayes interrupts and gives Nick a Christmas card. Sami tells Hayes when two people talk, you wait your turn. Hayes gives Sami a card. Sami repeats what he said to Carmelo. Hayes asks why is Sami here since he is only on Smackdown when getting beaten down by the Bloodline. Sami says the Bloodline can wait tonight. He asks for a match against Carmelo Hayes. Nick gives him the match.
Austin Theory vs. Braun Strowman
Theory goes to the floor and Braun with clotheslines when Theory returns to the ring. Braun wiht an Irish whip and Braun misses a splash. Theory gets Braun up but Braun with an elbow to get back to his feet. Braun biels Theory across the ring and Theory goes to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Theory with punches and a DDT. Theory pie faces Braun and Braun chops Theory. Theory with a clip and a punch for a near fall but Theory is sent to the floor on the kick out by Braun. Theory drops Braun on the top rope and he hits a slingshot rolling drop kick. Braun drop kicks Theory to the floor. Braun palms Theory onto the apron and then Waller tries to trip Braun but Braun sees it and he stomps on Waller’s hand. Braun with a back drop that sends Theory onto Waller. Braun goes to the floor fro the Wacky Lap and he clotheslines Theory when Waller moves. Waller goes to St. Petersburg.
Braun picks up Theory and slams him into the ring. Braun goes up top and Waller returns but Braun pushes Waller to the apron. Theory goes for A Town Down but Theory cannot keep him up to hit the move. Braun with a running power slam for the three count.
Winner: Braun Strowman
– Cole mentions that Smackdown moves to three hours next week.
– We take a look back at Chelsea Green winning the US Title two weeks ago.

We Hear from Kevin Owens:
We are back and Kevin is in his car and he says he heard Nick. He says he heard what Nick said about not being a champion, but he has the belt and he is the real champion. Kevin mocks Nick when he says he will give the belt back. Kevin says he will need to talk to Nick first and under his terms. He will talk to him in the ring and it has to be just them. No office cronies.
In the Arena:
PIper Niven is in the ring behind a lectern. Piper wants everyone to join her in giving a warm welcome to your prettiest, tallest, sparkliest, first, and longest reigning Women’s US Champion… Chelsea Green.
Chelsea makes her way to the ring with her Statue of Liberty crown.
Chelsea says she wants to address the fine people of the WWE Universe. She says they did it. They have turned the blue brand into the Green House. She says Fergie used the letters Glamorous to describe this moment. When the world would feast their eyes on the most glamorous Women’s US Champion.
She says it is only necessary to give recognition to the woman who has been there the entire time. She says it is her. Green says it is her honor to bring pride and sexiness to the ring. If not her, it would be one of the she-trolls in the back. Green says to her trash loving opponent, Michin, she has two words for her. Good riddance. You could be a champion like her, but she is Canadiana and Canadians don’t lie.
Green tells Michin that she is shocked Michin made it that far in the tournament in the first place. Green says she challenges you to ask yourself not what Chelsea Green can do for you but what can you do for Chelsea Green. Next year is the year of red, white, and green.
Michin makes her way to the ring and she is dressed for a fight.
Michin tells Chelsea if it wasn’t for your cooky friend Piper, she would be champion. Michin says she will take a page out of Green’s book and she will introduce Green to her new friend.
Piper goes to cut off Michin and she blocks a kendo stick shot but Michin takes care of Piper. Michin misses Green and Green begs for mercy. Piper carries Green to safety.
Backstage:
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are walkng in the back. Nick Aldis asks them if they have anything to say about who attacked the Street Profits. Ciampa says it sucks and he feels awful. Nick says there were two eyewitnesses and Elton Prince and Kit Wilson show up. Kit says he doesn’t really remember and Elton says maybe if there was funding for a future Tony Award winning musical. Nick threatens to fire them and they say it was the Garzas.
B Fab wants to make sure it was them. Angelo and Montez go looking for the Garzas and Montez and Angelo connect with many punches. Nick tells them that they will have a match.
We go to commercial.
The Street Profits w/B-Fab vs. Legado del Fantasma (Garza & Berto)
The match is joined in progress and Angelo with a clothesline to Angel. Ford kicks Garza off the apron and Carrillo does the same to Dawkins. They both hit pescados. Carrillo with a kick and Ford with a clothesline. Ford and Angelo with a double flapjack to Carrillo for a near fall. Dawkins with punches in the corner but Carrillo kicks Dawkins and connects with forearms. Garza tags in and Carrillo with a leap frog seated splash to Dawkins for a near fall. Angel with punches. Garza with a modified camel clutch and follows with forearms. Carrillo tags in and he connects with a forearm to the back. Dawkins with a punch and he knocks Garza off the apron. Ford tags in and Ford with a shoulder tackle and Dawkins sends Ford onto Carrillo with a back drop. Ford gets a near fall.
Garza with a head butt to Dawkins and Ford with a knee to Garza. Carrillo with an enzuigiri to Ford. Carrillo sends Ford to the apron and Garza with a running drop kick to send Ford into the ring post. Garza kicks Ford against the ringside barrier. Garza with forearms to Ford on the apron. Carrillo tags in and they put Ford on the turnbuckles. Carrillo with forearms and punches. Ford is put in the tree of woe and Garza tags in. They kick Ford. Garza draws Dawkins in for a moment but they cannot take advantage. Lopez slaps Ford and Garza gets a near fall. Garza with punches to the ribs while has Ford in a modified abdominal stretch.
Ford with elbows but Garza holds on. Garza with a spinebuster and Carrillo tags in. Garza with a running knee to the chest while Carrillo kicks Ford in the back. Carrillo tags in and he gives Ford a snap mare and follows with a drop kick to the back. Carrillo kicks Ford and Garza tags in and hits a running knee in the corner. Garza gets a near fall. Garza with forearms to the back but Ford with a DDT and both men are down. Dawkins and Carrillo tag in and Dawkisn with clothesline and a flapjack to Garza. Carrillo with a kick and Dawkins with a corkscrew back elbow to Carrillo followed by a swinging butterfly neck breaker for a near fall. Dawkins gets Carrillo on his shoulders and he tags in Ford. Garza pulls Carrillo to the mat and he sends Dawkins into Ford. Angel and Humberto go for a Double Military Press and Angel with a splash onto Dawkins.
Carrillo with a moonsault for a near fall. Garza tags in and Dawkins takes care of Garza and Ford with an enzuigiri to Carrillo. Dawkins tags in and Lopez pulls Garza to the floor. Fab with a jumping bicycle kick to Lopez. Ford with a flip dive onto Angel and Humberto. Dawkins gets Garza up and Frod with the Doomsday Blockbuster for the three count.

Backstage:
Andrade says Nakamura wants to call himself the savior of the US Title. He says Nakamura showed him the kind of man he is. A man with no respect. He says he is coming after Nakamura and he says he will expose him and then everyone will remember that Andrade is Inevitable.
– Nakamura and Andrade will meet next week. Naomi faces Nia Jax for the Women’s Title.
Backstage:
Kit and Elton walk in the back and Ciampa and Gargano want to know what is going on. They talk about quid pro quo. Ciampa says they will watch their back. B Fab thanks Kit and Elton for the Garzas and they respect them. Fab says they need to talk to Aldis about a title match. Sabin says if anyone wants a title match, it is them. Apollo Crews shows up and says that Ford and Angelo were played because it wasn’t the Garzas, it was DIY.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Sami Zayn
They lock up and Sami sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Hayes pushes Sami on the break. They lock up and Sami with a wrist lock. Hayes backs Sami into the turnbuckles. Sami with chops. Hayes with a drop kick for a near fall. Hayes with a side head lock. Sami sends Hayes over the top rope to the floor. Sami sets for a dive to the floor but Hayes moves and Sami does an Arabian Press back into the ring. Hayes pulls Sami to the floor and Hayes tells the people in the front row to move and that allows Sami to land on the ringside barrier and hit a moonsault.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Hayes sends Sami into the turnbuckles. Hayes sends Sami into the turnbuckles one more time. He goes for a third one but Sami blocks it and he sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Sami tries to suplex Hayes back into the ring and Hayes drops Sami on the top rope. Hayes with a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Hayes with punches to Sami. Hayes with a forearm and he pie faces Sami. Hayes with a punch. Sami with punches of his own. Sami leap frogs over Hayes and hits a clothesline. Sami with a back elbow and Sami with a double sledge off the turnbuckles. Sami goes for a Blue Thunder Bomb but Hayes blocks it.
Sami goes for the Blue Thunder Bomb again and Hayes lands on his feet. Sami catches Hayes off the ropes on a springboard move and he finally hits the Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Sami goes up top and Hayes leaps up to stop him. Sami head butts Hayes to the mat and Sami leaps over Hayes when he moves. Hayes with a Codebreaker for a near fall. Hayes with more near falls. Hayes with a springboard DDT and he goes up top. Hayes goes for Nothin But Net but Sami with a clothesline. Sami punches Hayes in the corner so fast the crowd cannot keep up with the count. Sami with an exploder into the turnbuckles. Sami sets for the Helluva kick and Hayes goes to the floor and the referee starts his count.
Braun Strowman’s music plays and Braun tries to bring Hayes to the ring but he escapes and they go to the back.
Tama Tonga attacks Sami and then Fatu and Solo join the ring. Tama runs into a boot and Fatu goes shoulder first into the ring post. Solo stops Sami and then Tama punches Sami.
Braun brings Hayes back into the arena but he sees what is going on in the ring and he drops Hayes. Braun stops Tama on the floor and Solo and Braun exchange forearms. Braun with a shoulder tackle.
Fatu gets in the ring with Braun. Tama clips Braun and Solo with a Samoan Spike to Braun.
Sami comes back to the ring and Tama stops him.
Officials come to the ering but Fatu with a triple jump moonsault onto Sami. Solo with a Samoan spike for Sami.
Kevin Owens’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring with his title belt.
We go to commercial.
In the Arena:
We are back and Kevin and Nick are alone in the ring.
Nick says he said all that needs to be said so there is one thing left to do. He tells Kevin to do the right thing and hand over the title belt.
Kevin asks if that is the right thing in Nick’s mind because that is the worst thing he can do. He says this is the only bargaining chip he has and that he can get what he deserves. Kevin says he wants a rematch for the title where the referee cannot rob him of his victory.
Cody needs to take it and he wants his rematch. Kevin says he had Cody beat and everyone knows it.
Nick says this was not a negotiation. There would be immediate and severe consequences if you didn’t hand over the title.
You hand the belt over or you never set foot in a WWE ring again.
Cody Rhodes’ music interrupts and he comes to the stage.
Nick tells Cody for the sake of his health and for the sake of the company, he asks Cody to turn around and walk away so Nick can handle this.
Cody says he is not gonna walk away. He says he doesn’t want Kevin to hand the title to him. He doesn’t want to make a martyr out of someone who wants to be a martyr. You are making this about what you think it is. You said the problem stemmed from you teaming with a man who tried to end your livelihood. You did the same to him. It is not about what you are saying. When they met, he was young and angry. Cody says he was doing it about him at the time. Cody says he doesn’t do it about him any more. He does it for his girls, for his fans, for this announcer, for his cousin who is the time keeper. He does it for his mentor, Randy Orton. He does it for people who put faith in him. He was given the title belt for one night to give the fans something special.
It is not Nick’s responsibility to take the belt, it is Cody’s to take it back.
Cody tells Kevin to shut up. Cody asks if they were friends before he was champion. yes. Are they friends now? Absolutely not. He wants a match where the referee cannot stop what he is going to do to Kevin.
Cody tells Nick to make the match
Cody enters the ring and he says that is what is about. It is about climbing. Let’s do just that. Take these title belts and hang them high up in a LADDER MATCH.
Nick says at the Royal Rumble, Kevin Owens will face Cody Rhodes in a ladder match.
Kevin says that sounds great to him and he will see Cody there.
Kevin offers his hand but Cody doesn’t shake it.
Kevin pushes Nick into Cody and they go down. Kevin kicks Cody in the back of the head many times and then he gets out of the ring and he says he is the true champ.
We go to credits.
