Backstage News on Oro Mensah’s WWE Status – WWE currently boasts an extensive roster of talent spread across its multiple brands, which naturally results in some performers not appearing regularly on television. Oro Mensah is among those whose recent absence has sparked speculation among fans about his status with the company.
Mensah, originally signed by WWE in 2019, debuted under the ring name Oliver Carter as part of the NXT UK brand. During his tenure there, he achieved success as one-half of the NXT UK Tag Team Champions alongside Ashton Smith. In 2022, Mensah transitioned to NXT and adopted his current moniker. Since then, he has been featured as a member of The Meta-Four faction alongside Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend, and Noam Dar.
Mensah last competed in a televised match on the October 15 episode of NXT, where he participated in a Gentleman’s Duel against Lexis King. Following that, he put over Niko Vance during the December 3 episode of NXT Level Up. His absence since then has fueled online speculation, including rumors about his potential release.
However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has dispelled these concerns. According to his report, “Contrary to social media panic on December 13th, Oro Mensah has not been released by WWE. We have not heard of Keanu Carver exiting the company either as of this writing.”
While WWE’s plans for Mensah’s return to TV remain unclear, the clarification should ease fans’ concerns. For now, the talented competitor appears to remain a part of WWE’s future.
