Shinsuke Nakamura Returns, Attacks LA Knights – Shinsuke Nakamura made his highly anticipated return to WWE television during the November 15 episode of WWE SmackDown. The surprise comeback occurred moments after LA Knight successfully defended his WWE United States Championship in an open challenge against Berto.
Following his victory, Knight’s celebration was cut short when Nakamura ambushed him with a brutal Kinshasa.
Nakamura debuted a revamped look for his return, moving away from his signature red gear. He wore a long brown duster over a black leather shirt and black pants, his hair obscuring part of his face, which featured red diamond-shaped face paint above and below his eyes. After delivering his devastating attack, Nakamura took a moment to admire his handiwork before casually exiting the ring.
This marked Nakamura’s first appearance on WWE television since April 22, when he lost to Sheamus on WWE RAW. While absent from WWE programming, Nakamura made headlines last month when Pro Wrestling NOAH announced his upcoming return to the promotion for their New Year’s Day event. In a video aired by NOAH, Nakamura reflected on his time away and hinted at his excitement for the appearance, though his opponent has yet to be revealed.
Nakamura last competed for NOAH on January 1, 2023, when he defeated The Great Muta during the legend’s retirement tour in a widely praised bout.
With his shocking return and a bold new persona, Nakamura’s reemergence on SmackDown sets the stage for a potential feud with LA Knight and positions him as a major player on the road to WWE Survivor Series and beyond.
