The event, which already featured appearances from wrestling legends Mick Foley and Kurt Angle, became even more electrified when Starks interrupted a promo from GCW regular Jimmy Lloyd.
Lloyd, who was mocking AEW’s Full Gear event happening nearby at the Prudential Center, sarcastically referenced Starks being “in catering” up the street. In response, Starks delivered a brutal DDT to Lloyd before addressing the crowd. “I think everyone wants a statement from Ricky Starks, huh? Well, the statement is I’m standing right here in the middle of a GCW ring,” Starks boldly declared.
With fiery passion, Starks made it clear he was far from fading into obscurity. “Passion runs through my blood, and I will be damned if I sit at home and let my career dwindle. I am 34 years old. I’m healthy. I am goddamn good looking, and most importantly, I am a generational superstar,” he continued, emphasizing his hunger for success.
Starks announced his return to his roots, stating that he would be diving back into the wrestling scene, starting with GCW, one of the most talked-about promotions in wrestling right now. His impassioned speech hinted at his desire to make a statement on his own terms.
