Orange Cassidy Reflects on AEW’s Growth Ahead of Full Gear Showdown with Jon Moxley – Orange Cassidy, one of AEW’s standout homegrown stars, shared his thoughts on the company’s evolution as he prepares to face Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear. Having been with AEW since its inception in 2019, Cassidy has witnessed its meteoric rise and ongoing transformation.
In an interview with Dean Moses of AMNY, Cassidy compared AEW’s current phase to an awkward period of growth and self-discovery. “It’s tough for AEW because of how fast the company grew and for how successful it has been in just under, we’re talking five years. We’re growing and we’re changing, and we’re going through that weird middle school age of figuring out who you are and do you want your hair short or long,” Cassidy said.
Cassidy emphasized the importance of allowing AEW to evolve organically rather than rushing its development. He expressed confidence in AEW President Tony Khan’s vision and leadership. “It’s important that AEW just takes the natural evolution, and we don’t try to force anything. Tony Khan has an incredible eye for talent, and he’s an incredibly generous person that understands professional wrestling. And no matter what changes we go through; I feel very secure in the fact that I know that Tony Khan will make sure that the best are wrestling for AEW,” he explained.
Cassidy’s upcoming match against Moxley at Full Gear represents a pivotal moment for both men. Moxley has been a central figure in AEW’s ongoing storyline evolution, pushing for change in the company to align with his vision. Cassidy, having experienced the highs and lows of AEW’s growth, now stands as a symbol of its progress and resilience. Their clash is set to be a defining chapter in AEW’s journey.
