Owens previously attacked Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood, and they have been feuding ever since. Meanwhile, Owens was also locked in a rivalry with Randy Orton. He took Orton out with a piledriver on the November 8 episode of WWE SmackDown. Rhodes then vowed to get revenge.
Rhodes previously defeated Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin.
