AEW Continental Classic Kicks Off on 11/27 AEW Dynamite – The AEW Continental Classic is officially returning, set to kick off on November 27, 2024, during the “Thanksgiving Eve” episode of AEW Dynamite.
The announcement on tonight’s Dynamite confirmed the start date, building excitement for AEW’s annual high-stakes tournament. AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada has been confirmed as a participant, setting the stage for a competitive lineup, although most other entrants remain unannounced.
Last year’s tournament culminated in an intense final where Eddie Kingston defeated Jon Moxley at AEW Worlds End, becoming the inaugural AEW Continental Champion. While Mark Briscoe reiterated last week that the Continental Classic would return Thanksgiving Eve, further details regarding tournament format, participants, and brackets have yet to be revealed.
If the format is the same as last year, the tournament is of the round robin variety with 12 wrestlers split between two “leagues.” Each competitor will have five individual matches as they look to earn points (three for a win, one for a draw) to win their group. Like last year, the tournament winner is expected to be crowned at December’s Worlds End.
Fans can look forward to AEW Dynamite in two weeks for the start of what promises to be an electrifying event featuring top talent competing for the coveted Continental Championship.
