Adam Copeland Cleared for Physicality – PWInsider reports that Adam Copeland has been medically cleared for physical activity but won’t return to AEW until his filming commitments for Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians wrap up. The second season of the series, in which Copeland plays Ares, is expected to finish production in January 2025.
Copeland has been sidelined since AEW Double or Nothing, where he suffered a fractured tibia after a high-risk leap off a barbed wire steel cage. The injury required surgery, forcing him to vacate the TNT Championship, which Jack Perry later claimed at Forbidden Door.
In September, Copeland spoke with Sports Illustrated about his recovery, noting he was making progress but wasn’t yet at full strength. “I can walk, get in the ring, and move around a little, but I still feel the deficiency,” he said, emphasizing the need for more rehabilitation before an in-ring return.
At the AEW Full Gear press conference, AEW President Tony Khan expressed optimism about Copeland’s return, stating, “I hope to have him back soon.”
Fans are eagerly anticipating Copeland’s comeback, as his return will likely have significant implications for AEW’s storylines, especially given the momentum he had before his injury.
