Private Party Tag Team Championship celebration

Tony Schiavone welcomes the brand-new AEW World Tag Team Champions, Private Party! They come out with Daniel Garcia.

Schiavone says on “Dynamite,” they turned in one of the most tremendous performances he’s ever seen. The crowd is chanting “You deserve it!” Schiavone says it must feel great. Kassidy says they can’t hear Tony because they’re listening to the fans. Zay says at the start of the year they said “new year, new champs.” It may have taken them a long time, but they did it. Zay says when a man swears on his momma, you better believe it. Quen thanks the Young Bucks for making them earn the belts, because they’ve gotten better every time they’ve stepped in the ring with the Bucks, and now they have the proof.

But what’s next for Private Party? Crowd chants “shots” but Zay says “that’s after.” Zay says they’re willing to defend the titles against anybody and everybody, and that means everybody — they get in the face of FTR. The two teams immediately begin jawing and showing each other. One of the Outrunners says they’re only here for one reason: to celebrate Private Party’s five-year journey in Philadelphia. The other Outrunner says the Bucks are gone, Private Party’s here, and it’s their time now. He puts over AEW, where the best tag team wrestle, closing with “Go Birds.” Private Party and FTR show each other respect.

Zay says the party is never gonna end, because there ain’t no party like a Private Party, and that’s a flex.

Mariah May and Anna Jay are both shown arriving. Jay tells Philly to get ready for their new champion.

Renee is backstage with The Acclaimed, says we have new champions, but they are the winningest team in AEW history. Anthony Bowens congratulates Private Party as says they’re proud of them as fellow homegrown AEW stars, but don’t let that fool you, because The Acclaimed are coming for the titles. Max Caster says they’ve been chasing the titles all year and they’re not going to stop chasing them just because it’s Private Party instead of The Young Bucks. Caster says Private Party doesn’t have the best wrestler alive on their team, so when the two teams lock up, there’s only one outcome, because everyone loves The Acclaimed! Caster says Private Party is still on the come-up and the fans still love The Acclaimed. He says the fans give him all their money and pulls it out to show everyone, but MVP’s card is still there, which surprises Bowens. Caster says Private Party doesn’t have the Hurt Syndicate desperate for The Acclaimed to join up. Bowens gets things back on track and again says that everyone loves The Acclaimed.

Dia De Los Muertos Match: Harley Cameron vs. Thunder Rosa

Harley Cameron comes out wearing pink cat makeup. Thunder Rosa comes out with dramatic Dia De Lis Muertos presentation. Thunder Rosa shoves Cameron but Cameron delivers a series of kicks, then poses. Rosa grabs her from behind, throws her, ducks a clothesline, then his a suplex followed by some kicks. Cameron goes to the outside but Rosa hits her with a basement dropkick, then bounces Cameron’s head off the apron and delivers a chop to the chest. Rosa has a decorative gravestone and hits Cameron in the back, then hits her twice with a trash can lid. Rosa drags Cameron around by the hair, gives her a headbutt, then puts her in a wristlock. After a couple attempts Rosa manages to balance on the safety rail, but Cameron pulls her down and then attacks with mounted punches. Cameron sends Rosa flying into the ring steps, she’s yelling that she’s “La Mera Mera.” Cameron goes to Irish Whip Rosa through a big piece of decoration, but Rosa reverses and sends Cameron through it instead. Rosa looks into the camera and affirms that she is, in fact, “La Mera Mera” as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rosa is in the ring delivering chops to Cameron. Cameron and Rosa now taking turns running each other across the ring and hitting clotheslines. Eventually Cameron ducks one and they both come off the ropes and hit each other with a hair biel. On their knees, they exchange forearms. Rosa drags Cameron to her feet and hits a jawbreaker, covers Cameron but only gets two. Rosa grabs a chair and sets it up in the ring, then a second one beside it. Rosa goes out to get another piece of Dia De Los Muertos decoration and lays it flat across the two chairs. Rosa turns around but Cameron is back up and gives Rosa several shots with a pinata. Cameron then his a vertical suplex on Rosa through the board on the chairs, but Rosa kicks out before three.

Cameron smacks Rosa’s head into one of the chairs, then sits her down in it. She says she’s “La Mera Mera” and bounces off the ropes, but Rosa dodges the flying knee attempt and Cameron knees the chair. Rosa then hits her with a chair again, and once more. Rosa puts a trash can on Cameron’s head and delivers kicks, then sets her up sitting down in the corner with the can still on her. Rosa sets up a table in the middle of the ring, but only one set of legs are up. Rosa uses the angled table as a ramp, runs and jumps off the top to deliver an elevated dropkick to Cameron in the corner with trash can over her head. Rosa makes the cover and gets the three-count.

Winner: Thunder Rosa

Backstage, Lexy Nair is with the Undisputed Kingdom. Roderick Strong takes on Shane Taylor tonight. Roddy says “SHANE!” He says Shane is a bad man, but he’s just an obstacle, because Shane is Roddy’s first match on the road to MJF at Full Gear. Strong talks about how badly he wants to kick MJF’s ass and puts over The Kingdom and Adam Cole for their “Dynamite” performances, but everyone agrees that Strong needs to focus on tonight. Brian Cage and Lance Archer show up and say out a challenge to The Kingdom. Matt Taven asks who those Melvins are as they walk away.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Komander

Komander comes to the ring accompanied by Alex Abrahantes. Kyle Fletcher follows but does not have Don Callis with him, nor is Callis on commentary.

Fletcher slowly adjust his boots and makes the ref and Komander wait for him before the bell is rung. Fletcher takes off his outer pants (yes, really) and throws them in Komander’s face as the bell rings, distracting him and hitting a boot to the face. Fletcher walks slowly around Komander, drags him to his feet, picks him up and bodily throws him across the ring. Fletcher again slowly walks around taunting. Fletcher gets Komander up in the corner and his a chop, then a big bodyslam. More slow walking and taunting.

Fletcher picks up Komander and sets him in the Tree of Woe position, then delivers kicks to Komander’s chest. Fletcher argues with the official while surreptitiously kicking Komander behind the ref’s back. More slow walking and taunting. Fletcher drags Komander up and Irish Whips him across the ring, but Komander moves and Fletcher runs into the turnbuckle. Komander goes for a springboard move, Fletcher catches him, but Komander flips him into a pin for a two count. Now Komander is rolling, his a big rana and gets Fletcher into the corner where he delivers punches and chops. Komander with a wristlock, climbs the ropes and starts doing some fancy footwork before a move, but Fletcher shoves him to the outside. Fletcher follows him out there, gets him up and hits a powerbomb on the ring apron. Fletcher gets up on the apron and flexes over Komander as we go to commercial.

Back from break, Komander is back in the Tree of Woe and Fletcher is posing again. He comes in for a kick but Komander sits up, Fletcher hits the turnbuckle and Komander is able to hit a version of Sliced Bread #2. Komander bounces off the ropes for a dive, but Fletcher dodges, gets back in the ring and hits a dive of his own. Fletcher throws Komander in the ring, then boots Abrahantes in the face. He taunts some more, but Komander hits a springboard moonsault to the outside. Komander rolls Fletcher into the ring, Abrahantes encourages him. Komander climbs to the top rope and jumps off but Fletcher dodges. Komander hits some kicks, Fletcher comes off the ropes but Komander hits a Spanish Fly for a two count.

Komander goes to the corner and stomps his foot. He runs across the ring, bounces up to the opposite turnbuckle and goes for a moonsault, but Fletcher counters with double boots as Komander comes down. Fletcher hits a huge powerbomb but Komander kicks out! Fletcher goes for the Tiger Driver but Komander counters into a pin for two. Komander gets on Fletcher’s shoulders and tries for a poisonrana, but Fletcher gets them to the outside — but Komander is still on his shoulders and his the poison rana on the floor! Komander gets Fletcher on the apron, hits some kicks, and hits a spinning move that drives Fletcher into the apron. Komander hits his running springboard moonsault again, but Fletcher kicks out. Komander goes for anther running move, but Fletcher stops him with a clothesline. Komander stands up in the corner but Fletcher hits a running kick. He puts Komander up on the top rope and goes for a superplex, but Komander floats over. Komander counters Fletcher again, this time into a Destroyer!

Fletcher is on the outside, Komander climbs the turnbuckle, walks across the ring on the ropes and his a space flying moonsault! Komander gets Fletcher back in the ring, and goes for another slip, but Fletcher kicks the rope out from under him and hits a suplex. Fletcher hits another running kick in the corner and gets Komander up to the top again. Fletcher hits the top rope brainbuster, covers Komander, and gets the three count.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

Fletcher mounts Komander after the match and starts punching him, but Mark Davis comes out and gets in his face. They exchange words and Fletcher dares Davis to hit him. Davis doesn’t and Fletcher leaves the ring and walks back up the ramp.

Jack Perry is backstage. He says a lot’s changing these days. Some for the better, some remains to be seen. The only thing — wait, he’s interrupted by Daniel Garcia, who just wants to talk. Garcia says he wanted to come back here and grab his throat again, but maybe that’s not the best way to communicate with Perry. They’re different people, Perry has been handed everything in life and Garcia has been dealing with pretentious pieces of trash his entire life. Perry says he knows Garcia because he’s been Garcia, everything Garcia believes in, Perry has already believed. AEW was Perry’s dream too and he gave everything he had to it, and it turned its back on him just the same. He sees it now for what it really is. Garcia sees as well as Perry does the kind of person who succeeds here, who his heroes really are. Garcia still thinks there’s good and bad, but they can’t tell the difference. Garcia is afraid to be what he has to be and sacrifice everything that he loves, and that’s why he’s not ready. Perry grabs his titlebelt and departs.

Lance Archer and Brian Cage vs. Shaun Smith and Joe Keys

Cage starts the match by knocking Keys down and knocking Smith off the apron. Cage gets Keys in the corner and German suplexes him out of it, then makes the tag to Archer. Archer gets Keys in the corner and comes in with a big splash, then a running elbow into the turnbuckle. Archer knocks Smith off the apron and hits another running move on Keys. Keys manages to duck a clothesline and makes the tag to Smith who bounces off the ropes a few times before Archer catches him with a Bossman Slam. Cage tags in and vertical suplexes Smith from the apron to the ring. Keys attacks Archer from behind but is ineffective and takes a chokeslam. Cage gets Smith up into a powerbomb position, Archer joins him for a powerbomb/chokeslam combination with gets the three count.

Winners: Brian Cage and Lance Archer

After the match, Archer and Cage beat up the jobbers some more. Archer hits the Blackout on Keyes, Cage hits the Drill Claw on Smith. Archer drags Keys up again and hands him to Cage, but now The Undisputed Kingdom are out to make the save, chairs in hand. They chase off Archer and Cage. Kyle O’Reilly is shown watching things go down on a screen backstage.

Lexy Nair is in the back with AR Fox. She compliments him for his recent match with Ricochet and asks what’s next. Before he can answer, he’s confronted by the Waynes and Kip Sabian. Nick Wayne says it’s been a year since he’s seen Fox, and he’s learned to always hold a grudge. Wayne says the biggest mistake Fox ever made was jumping him at his wrestling show last year, but he’s a grown man now. Wayne says he doubts Hook shows up for his match with Christian Cage next week. Fox says he doesn’t know about that, but he’ll show up to face Wayne on “Collision” next week.

Jon Moxley speaks, PAC vs. Action Andretti

A video airs recapping Kris Statlander’s victory over Kamille on “Dynamite.” Statlander is backstage and says she’s been replaying the post-match attack from Mercedes Mone in her mind and it pisses her off. She’s sorry she crushed Mercedes’ “Brick House,” but if Mone is everything she says she is, Statlander shouldn’t be a big deal. Mone struts around like she’s something special, but hides behind an entourage because she’s afraid. Statlander says Mone should be afraid of her, because last year at Full Gear, she only walked in as TBS Champion. This year, she’s walking out as TBS Champion.

Jon Moxley’s music hits and he comes out with Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta. Moxley has a microphone and says they’re live in Philadelphia, the home of Orange Cassidy, who in three weeks says he’s gonna cut the head off the snake and win the AEW World Championship. Moxley says Orange Cassidy wants to be the king, and he’s got the right idea but it’s not that simple. The game doesn’t begin at Full Gear, the game has already begun. The question is not whether Orange can slay the dragon in the ring, the question is if Cassidy can make it to Full Gear with his body and mind intact. Orange Cassidy brings the world title home to Philly, wouldn’t that be something for them all to be proud of. Moxley says he’s given Philly something to be proud of and that he knows what kind of person it takes to make it in Philly. Philly creates champions and people of unshakeable character, like Wheeler Yuta. The crowd boos. Moxley says Philly creates honest, hard-working people that do their job, like Yuta. He loves this kid, he’d do anything for this kid. Yuta understands sacrifice, putting your ego aside for the mission, Yuta knows what it’s like to fight for something bigger than himself, Yuta is a Philly hero.

Action Andretti’s music interrupts and he comes to the ring and grabs a mic. Action says he can’t listen to this for another second. Moxley is calling Wheeler Yuta a hometown hero, but Yuta is not what Philly represents. By the looks of it, with that beard, he looks like he came straight out of Amish town. And if you want to talk about anybody representing Philly, you can talk about Andretti. And when you’re in their city, they’re all about that action. Action says he came out here by himself to throw hands with any single one of the BCC, right here right now.

Yuta looks like he wants to accept for a moment, but then PAC jumps Andretti from behind. Action crawls to the corner, a referee is coming to the ring, it’s Bryce Remsburg. An impromptu match is made, the bell rings and PAC kicks Action in the face and sends him flying into the turnbuckle. PAC stands on Action’s face, breaks before the five count, and stands on his face again. PAC throws Andretti outside the ring and climbs to the apron. He looks down on Andretti as we go to commercial.

Back from break, PAC hits a snap suplex on Andretti. PAC hits a running strike in the corner, rolls Andretti to the ground, and walks around talking to the fans. PAC gets Action in a side headlock on the mat. Action fights to his feet and breaks the hold, tries to whip PAC into the ropes. PAC reverses but Action bounces off the ropes and hits a back elbow. There’s a small “Action” chant as he sells his shoulder. PAC misses a pair of clotheslines, pops Action up into the air but he dropkicks PAC and then hits a big tope over the top rope to the outside. Action rolls PAC back in the ring and gets him in the corner, where he stands on the second rope and delivers the traditional ten punches. PAC walks him out of the corner but Action lands an enzuguiri. Action his a springboard dropkick, then a superkick to the leg and a flurry of strikes. Action hits the Falcon Arrow but PAC kicks out. Action goes to the apron but Yuta distracts the ref while Shafir takes out Action’s knee. PAC hits a running pump kick in the corner, gets Action up on the turnbuckle, climbs up and hits a delayed superplex off the top rope. PAC locks in the Brutalizer and Andretti taps verbally.

Winner: PAC

PAC still has the Brutalizer on and Action falls unconscious in the hold. Even then, PAC won’t let go, keeping the hold on while the BCC surround him. Orange Cassidy appears in the crowd with a microphone. He says he has to say something real quick, “Go Birds.” He likes Philadelphia, says Yuta likes it too. Orange brings up the times when Orange helped him out when he was coming up. He asks if Yuta remembers Chuck Taylor. Orange says he remembers the old Yuta, but that’s not him, because the old Yuta would never let somebody do what the BCC did to Bryan Danielson. Yuta thinks Moxley cares about him, but he doesn’t and he never has. Orange says Mox is using Yuta, and he needs to show everybody that Moxley is not the man he says he is, and he does that by putting a stop to everything he says in two weeks at Full Gear. Orange says he’ll bring back the old Yuta, bring back AEW, beat Moxley, and become the next AEW World Champion.

Moxley appears to be telling Moxley to go get Orange and slaps him when he hesitates. Yuta grabs a chair and goes out to the ring to confront Cassidy. Orange has his hands in his pockets and tells Yuta to go ahead and hit him. Yuta continues to hesitate until Orange grabs the chair out of his hands. Yuta goes for a clothesline but Orange ducks and hits the Orange Punch. An enraged Moxley leads the BCC out into the crowd, but Orange is already up in the stands, safe from Moxley for now.

Backstage, Malaki Black talks about the phrase “idle hands do the devil’s work.” He says he’s been sitting idly by for so long that he’s become a shadow. Black and Cole are becoming relics of the previous era. Black wants Cole to be the person to end all of this, to silence all the things in his head, to muffle the voices. Because if Cole doesn’t, Black is going to drag him down and show him something blacker than the darkest black.

Lio Rush vs. Ariya Daivari

Lexy Nair is backstage with Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. Nair tries to congratulate Fletcher on his win but he wants to talk about the future, not the past, and the future is gold. Fletcher thinks it’s time for he and Takeshita to jump back into the tag division and take the belts from Private Party. Takeshita challenges Ricochet, Fletcher says Ricochet can bring literally whoever he wants, he doesn’t care.

Lio Rush comes to the ring where Ariya Daivari is waiting for him. Top Flight accompanies Rush and commentary sells that they didn’t help Andretti earlier because they were helping Rush. Josh Woods and Mark Sterling are on the outside too. Daivari starts quick by knocking Rush down in the corner and hitting punches, then a suplex. Rush takes the momentum back with a rana that sends Daivari into the corner, Rush hits him with a flurry of punches. Rush tries to drag Daivari out of the corner, the ref tries to stop him and Daivari uses the distraction to hit a clothesline. Rush rolls to the outside but Daivari rolls him back in. Daivari with Rush in the fireman’s carry position but Rush gets out of it gets a waistlock, Daivari switches but Rush fights out of that too, they go into an exchange that ends with Daivari slamming Rush to the mat. Daivari gets Rush up and delivers chops to Rush, who chops him back. They exchange punches and strikes, Rush wins the exchange, comes off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits one of his own followed a Falcon Arrow for a two count.

Rush climbs to the top rope but Daivari rolls outside the ring. Rush gets down, runs the ropes and hits a suicide dive on Josh Woods, then another on Mark Sterling. Rush takes down Daivari and rolls him into the ring, then goes back to the top. Daivari rushes him, Rush jumps over him but Daivari hits a DDT. Daivari gets Rush up but Rush dodges him and hits a slightly botched springboard cutter. Rush to the top rope again, this time he hits the frog splash for three.

Lexy Nair interviews MxM Collection and Johnny TV backstage. She asks Johnny about watching MxM’s match last week. Johnny says fashion saves more lives than doctors. He’s seen it all and MxM has “it.” MxM say they are the gift that keeps on giving (and receiving) but those words are the true gift. Johnny says if they ever want to “collab,” they should find him, then slides away. Mansoor comments on his ability to make an exit before the two of them slide downward out of the bottom of the frame.

Roderick Strong vs. Shane Taylor

Roderick Strong comes out with The Kingdom, Taylor with Lee Moriarty. They lock up and Taylor shoves Strong back into the ropes. He breaks the hold and hits a gut punch, then a series of punches, then plants his foot in Strong’s face. Strong gets to his feet, we see MJF watching the match somewhere, Strong with chops but Taylor bowls him over. Moriarty and The Kingdom are getting into it at ringside. Taylor delivers a big chop to Strong’s chest in the corner, but Strong comes back with chops of his own. Taylor knocks Strong back into the corner and hits another chop. Taylor then nails a big punch and Strong goes to the outside. Taylor follows him out but Strong gets back into the ring and lands a basement dropkick. He goes back out to hit more strikes, but Taylor escapes back into the ring and levels Strong on the apron when he tries to follow. Taylor gets Strong’s feet up on the ropes in the Tower of London position and hits a shoulder breaker as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Strong is trying to lift Taylor but he can’t, and Taylor headbutts him. Strong falls out of the ring but his knee is caught on the bottom rope. Taylor goes out to the apron and tries a leg drop, but Strong moves and Taylor comes down on the apron. Strong recovers and his a dropkick that knocks Taylor to the floor. Taylor gets back up but Strong comes flying off the apron and takes him down. Storm is fired up, follows Taylor back into the ring and hits a series of flying forearms to the head, followed by a clothesline that only gets him a one-count.  Strong tries to lift Taylor on his back for a slam but can’t. Taylor catches Strong’s foot, but Strong nails a kick coming off the ropes, picks him up and slams him. Strong covers but only gets two.

Strong gets to his feet, the crowd is chanting “Roddy.” Taylor dodges the jumping knee and delivers a punch, following by a uranage and a big splash, but Strong kicks out just before three. Taylor rocks Strong with a forearm and goes for a package piledriver, but Strong escapes and hits the knee. Strong covers Taylor and gets an awkward three-count that might not have been supposed to go down like that.

Winner: Roderick Strong
