War Raiders Earn No. 1 Contender Spot for World Tag Team Titles – The October 28 episode of WWE RAW saw a high-stakes triple threat tag team match to determine the number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championships. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar), and the team of Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee clashed in a chaotic bout that kept the crowd on edge.
As the match neared its conclusion, Kofi Kingston set Dragon Lee up for New Day’s signature double-team finisher. However, Xavier Woods became distracted by Rey Mysterio and charged across the ring to confront him. His risky maneuver backfired as Woods miscalculated and flew out of the ring, leaving Kingston vulnerable. Sensing an opening, Mysterio and Lee took control, setting Kingston up for the 619. While Lee dealt with Woods at ringside, Rey attempted to seal the win, but Chad Gable shockingly intervened, pulling Mysterio from the ring just before he could connect.
With the chaos at ringside, The War Raiders seized their moment. Entering the ring, they isolated Kingston and unleashed a devastating springboard clothesline-German suplex combination, securing the pinfall victory and becoming the new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championships.
Though an official date for the title match has yet to be announced, The War Raiders now set their sights on dethroning Finn Balor & JD McDonagh, who have held the championships since June 24 but have only defended them once against New Day in September. With the Raiders’ recent momentum, the champions may face their toughest challenge yet.
