Backstage Update on Bobby Lashley’s AEW Status – Bobby Lashley is set to make his long-anticipated debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the near future. According to recent reports, Lashley has signed with AEW, and fans can expect his arrival on television soon. However, despite speculation that he might appear at the WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view, Lashley was not backstage at the event.
Fightful Select reports that AEW officials did consider debuting Lashley at WrestleDream, potentially in a segment attacking the returning Swerve Strickland. However, they ultimately decided against it to avoid overshadowing the main storyline of Bryan Danielson’s defeat at the hands of Jon Moxley. With Danielson being a hometown hero in Seattle, the company felt that two beatdowns of hometown stars during the same event might not have been well-received by the live audience.
Although Lashley’s appearance was delayed, his debut is still expected to take place within a few weeks. When he does arrive in AEW, Lashley will reportedly be aligned with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, reuniting The Hurt Business faction that was highly successful in WWE. Fans are eagerly awaiting how Lashley will impact AEW’s roster and what rivalries he will ignite upon his debut.
