Backstage News on Changes Set to Debut on Tonight’s NXT

Backstage News on Changes Set to Debut on Tonight’s NXT – As previously noted, changes are coming to WWE NXT, with Shawn Michaels hinting at more surprises for the brand in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

According to Fightful Select, one of the first changes set to debut on tonight’s episode is a new logo, which will feature a sleek silver and black design. This new logo is described as more rectangular compared to the previous one, which has been in use since 2022 when it replaced the multicolored NXT 2.0 logo.

The transition to a black-and-silver color scheme marks the phasing out of the yellow traditionally associated with NXT. Along with this aesthetic shift, there are plans to present the show in a more “straightforward” manner. One individual familiar with the new look compared it to an “old Los Angeles Raiders” vibe, emphasizing the black, silver, and white colors for a cleaner and more metallic presentation.

Interestingly, there’s been speculation about WWE NXT’s potential shift from a TV-PG to TV-14 rating, though some insiders find it curious that this change could happen for NXT, but not for RAW or SmackDown. It’s suggested that since NXT airs on network television, the change may serve as a workaround to avoid censoring certain content, such as crowd chants or edgier material.

Tonight’s episode is stacked with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez vs. Giulia in the opening match and NXT Champion Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams, with CM Punk as the special guest referee. Also on deck is WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair to appear, Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz in a street fight, Miz TV with Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo, and Fatal Attraction vs. Jaida Parker and Lola Vice.

Fans can expect these changes to be unveiled during tonight’s WWE NXT episode on CW, broadcasting live from Chicago, IL, at 8/7c. Stay tuned for live coverage and results from the show.
