Update on Wardlow's AEW Absence

Update on Wardlow’s AEW Absence – It has been several months since Wardlow last appeared on AEW television, despite being regarded by many as someone who should be a regular in the main event scene. His time in AEW has been marked by inconsistent pushes, with significant momentum halting multiple times. At one point, it seemed Wardlow was set for a major feud with Adam Cole, but with Cole currently out of action, those plans have stalled.

Wardlow was recently spotted at a Jacksonville Jaguars game on September 15, and by all appearances, he looked healthy, suggesting that his absence isn’t due to injury. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wardlow is simply one of the wrestlers not being utilized at the moment, as AEW continues to rotate its talent due to the size of its roster.

There’s no clear indication of when Wardlow will return to TV, but fans have been left speculating about his future. His most recent wrestling-related tweet, posted on June 5, took a direct shot at AEW World Champion MJF, hinting at a potential revisiting of their rivalry. In the tweet, Wardlow criticized MJF, accusing him of trying to steal his persona, and added:

“He wants to be a 6’3 270lb monster athlete so bad. Now stealing my whole identity? Call yourself the ‘lone wolf’ all you want. You’re still just a pu**y that I squashed like nothing. Almost feel bad for the little boy, but the disrespect has gone too far for too long.”

Whether this signals a rekindling of their feud remains to be seen, but fans are eager to see Wardlow back in action.
