Shawn Michaels Congratulates Joe Hendry After Loss at NXT No Mercy

Shawn Michaels Congratulates Joe Hendry After Loss at NXT No Mercy – At NXT No Mercy 2024, TNA’s Joe Hendry took center stage in the main event as he challenged Ethan Page for the WWE NXT Championship. The match was intense, with Hendry putting up a strong fight, but in the end, Page secured the victory. The decisive moment came when Page hit Hendry below the belt, followed by the Razor’s Edge to retain his title.

Following the match, WWE posted a clip on Twitter/X showing Hendry backstage, where he was greeted by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. In the clip, Michaels shook Hendry’s hand and praised him for his performance, offering an open invitation for a future opportunity. “Joe, can’t thank you enough, man. Hell of a job out there. Look, any time you want another chance, just give me a call,” Michaels said.

Hendry responded with gratitude, acknowledging that the night didn’t go his way but emphasized his readiness to compete anytime, anywhere. “Thank you, Shawn. Tonight, it wasn’t my night. But remember what I said to you the first night I came in, Shawn. Anywhere, any time, any show,” Hendry replied. As Hendry walked away, Michaels concluded by saying he was a believer in Hendry.

Hendry’s appearances on NXT have been part of the ongoing collaboration between TNA and WWE NXT. Although it’s unclear when Hendry will return to NXT programming, his interaction with Michaels suggests that he could be back in the mix sooner rather than later.

In the aftermath of Hendry’s loss, TNA star Josh Alexander took to social media to mock him, writing, “Congrats. You failed yourself & the entire TNA locker room you were representing. 😂 See ya back on Thursdays. ✌️” The jab comes after their heated history, including Alexander costing Hendry a chance at the TNA World Heavyweight Title at TNA Slammiversary. On that night, Hendry had eliminated reigning champion Moose, only for Alexander to pin him, paving the way for Nic Nemeth to ultimately win the title. This latest dig adds another layer to their ongoing rivalry, with tensions between the two only continuing to rise.
