Nikki Bella Files for Divorce After Husband’s Arrest for Domestic Violence – WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, formerly known as Nikki Bella, has filed for divorce in the wake of her husband’s arrest for domestic violence.
TMZ reports that Garcia filed for divorce on Wednesday, two weeks after her husband Artem Chigvintsev was arrested for felony corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant following a domestic incident between the two. The outlet reports that Garcia has retained divorce attorney Evan Craig Itzkowitz for the proceedings.
Chigvintsev originally called 911 to report an injury, then called back to cancel the request for paramedics. Police still responded to the scene and arrested Chigvintsev after observing visible injuries to Garcia.
TMZ reported on September 3 that Garcia had already contacted attorneys and was looking to start divorce proceedings. TMZ also reports that Garcia is living in the couple’s home in Napa Valley in California, while Chigvintsev is staying elsewhere.
Garcia and Chigvintsev have been together since 2018, and married since 2022. The couple have a four year-old son together.
