9/6 WWE SmackDown Results – We are live from the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to start the show.
Cody asks the people of Edmonton what they want to talk about. Cody says this is an extremely large crowd. At Bash in Berlin, he says he was victorious against Canada’s own Kevin Owens. Cody welcomes Michael Cole back to Smackdown. Cody says he could go on further, but he has done this long enough that any moment, he is going to be interrupted. Before he is interrupted, he wants to extend an invitation to the Bloodline.
Pursuant to WWE bylaws, the Bloodline makes their way to the ring because they were mentioned. Solo Sikoa makes his way to the ring with Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu.
Solo enters the ring while the others stay on the floor.
Solo responds to the boos by saying he is happy to see them too. He asks Cody if he is done running his mouth to these people. He asks Cody if he is ready to defend that title against a real challenger like him. Solo says everybody knows that he could have been champion. He says he had Cody beat at SummerSlam, if it wasn’t for Roman Reigns. Solo says he deserves a rematch.
Cody says the season premiere of Smackdown next week should have a title match. Cody says someone is the number one contender in his book and he deserves a title match. Cody says he is not talking to Solo, he is talking to Jacob Fatu. Cody tells Jacob to step up.
Jacob makes his way into the ring, but he is not sure if he should step on the feet of Solo. Solo stares at Jacob and Jacob tells Solo he loves him and he is his tribal chief. Jacob goes back to the floor and stands next to Tama and Tonga.
Cody says it was worth a shot. He would be crazy to wrestle any of you. You believe it, don’t you? You get better every minute. The Bloodline revolves around you. Cody says this title is what WWE revolves around. He might be looking up at the lights due to your iron thumb at some point, but it won’t be next week.
Solo says he sees what Cody is trying to do to get his enforcer to turn on him. Solo says Cody is on for next week.
Solo and Cody toss their mics aside.
Tama, Tonga, and Jacob get into the ring and then their opponents in the main event arrive on the scene.
Nick Aldis tells everyone to back down unless they want to be suspended.
Nick says they can fight each other in the main event, but not a moment sooner. Nick says next week Solo Sikoa faces Cody Rhodes for the championship. Nick says this numbers game is getting a little old and bad for business. Nick says he has an idea for what is best for business. Next week, your match is in a steel cage.
Backstage:
Elton and Kit tell Tiffany that Bayley ends tonight thanks to her. They talk about the premiere of the Mu… Nia Jax shows up and she talks about how everyone thought Tiffany was going to cash in on her. Tiffany says she would never do that. Chelsea Green is spreading those lies because she is jealous. Nia says she knows Tiffany would never lie to her. Tiffany asks if Nia will be in her corner tonight. Nia says she will be in Tiffany’s corner and she will help her like Tiffany helped her.
We go to commercial.
Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton
They lock up and Tiffany with a clean break but Bayley pushes Tiffany. They lock up and Bayley sends Tiffany into the turnbuckles and gets a near fall with a rollup. Bayley with a wrist lock and she works on the arm with uppercuts. Tiffany with a reversal and Bayley goes through the ropes to tie up the arm in the ropes. Bayley slaps Tiffany in the head. Bayley with an arm bar. Tiffany with a forearm and she sends Bayley tot he mat. Tiffany with an Irish whip and Bayley with a boot and she comes off the turnbuckles with an arm drag. Bayley with a clothesline for a near fall. Tiffany with an Irish whip and Bayley goes to the apron and Tiffany sees it coming and stops short of the turnbuckles. Bayley goes up top and Tiffany stops her. Tiffany grabs Bayley but Bayley with a sunset flip on the apron. Tiffany with a drop kick.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Bayley with forearms and Tiffany with a rake of the eyes and she sends Bayley to the mat. Bayley is sent into the turnbuckles. Tiffany with a back handspring elbow into the corner followed by a snap mare but she misses a double stomp. Bayley with a rollup. Tiffany sends Bayley into the ropes with a drop toe hold but Bayley with a clothesline. Tiffany escapes a suplex and hits a drop kick and she gets a near fall. Tiffany rolls to the floor and she wrings Bayley’s arm into the ring post a few times. Tiffany with a hammer lock and she tries to send Bayley into the ring post but Bayley reverses it. Bayley with a suplex to the floor. They return to the ring and Bayley with a Saito suplex. Bayley with a running knee to the head for a near fall.
Bayley goes to the turnbuckles for an elbow drop and she hits it and gets a near fall.
Nia Jax makes her way to the ring. Tiffany with after avoiding a belly-to-belly suplex. Tiffany with an Alberta Slam for a near fall. Tiffany gets Bayley on her shoulders but Bayley escapes. Tiffany avoids an O’Connor Roll but Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex. Bayley with a suicide dive onto Nia and she returns to the ring. Nia distracts the referee and Tiffany with a back slide and the referee only makes a two count due to the distraction. Bayley with Rose Plant for the three count.
Winner: Bayley
Backstage:
Kevin Owens is in HALLWAY looking at a display for Wayne Gretzky. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller insult the Oilers and he asks Kevin how he did at Bash in Berlin. Kevin calls them idiots and he says he is fine with Cody. He says they are a great team, maybe better than the Oilers. Maybe they can be in the ring together. Kevin suggests a triple threat match. Kevin tells them they don’t get to have the Oilers belt. Waller tries to talk up the triple threat match and he doesn’t think Gretzky ever said it was a good night for a Triple Threat match, like Kevin said.
Giovanni Vinci walks in the back as we go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Angel, Humberto, and Elektra are in RESTAURANT and they are in a good mood. Santos shows up and he asks why are they so happy. Humberto says they won a tag match but Santos asks what title they won. Santos says victory is not what they obtain. It is who they are. They don’t find success, they make it. It is there for them to take. Angel says this is the beginning while Humberto says everything is falling into place while Elektra says it is there to take. Santos says it will belong to the emperor and his familia. They toast and Santos says it is time to celebrate.
Giovanni Vinci vs. Apollo Crews
Vinci has trouble taking off his jacket and Crews with a crucifix for the three count right after the bell.
Winner: Apollo Crews
Backstage:
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven are with Nick Aldis and she complains about what happened on NXT. Michin enters and Green says it is fitting that Michin was in a trash can which makes sense. Michin says Green was being attacked on NXT. Green says she is not in a condition to wrestle tonight. Nick talks about falling off the horse and getting back on it. He says that is what will happen when she faces Michin.
We go to commercial.
Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory vs. Grayson Waller
Kevin clotheslines Waller over the top rope and he sends Theory to the floor. Owens with a cannonball off the apron. Kevin sends Theory into the ringside barrier a few times but Waller goes after Owens. Theory and Waller send Kevin into the ringside barrier. Waller gets a table from under the ring and Owens sends Theory into the ringside barrier. Waller with a punch but Kevin with a kick and he power bombs Waller through the table.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Theory punches Owens in the turnbuckles but Kevin punches back and he kicks Theory as well. Theory with a running back elbow. We see Corey Perry helping Kevin Owens during the break. Theory with a slingshot rolling blockbuster and both men are down. Owens with punches to Theory followed by chops and more punches. Owens with a kick and a clothesline. Owens with a back senton to Theory and then he sets for the cannonball and he hits it. Owens goes up top and hits a swanton and Waller breaks up the cover. Waller with forearms to the back of the neck. Waller with more forearms. Waller runs into a forearm from Owens and Theory with a forearm and a rolling blockbuster bu Waller breaks up the cover.
Theory has some words for Waller. Waller with kicks to Owens and they put Kevin on the turnbuckles. They set for a double superplex and Owens with punches and he sends Waller into Theory and they go to the mat. Theory goes back up and Owens with a Super Finlay Slam for a near fall. Waller puts Owens on the turnbuckles and he sets for a superplex but Owens with a super fisherman’s buster to Waller for a near fall. Theory signals it is over but Owens escapes and Theory almost collides into Waller. Waller is knocked off the apron and Theory with a rollup for a near fall. Owens with a stunner on Theory for the three count.
Winner: Kevin Owens
After the match, Waller attacks Owens but Owens sends Waller to the floor. Theory with A Town Down and a rolling blockbuster to Owens.

– We are back and Michael Cole talks about the announcement of Smackdown going to Fox and how he wanted to host a network show. We take a look back at the Smackdown run on Fox.
In the Arena:
LA Knight makes his way to the ring.
Knight wants to talk to ya and he says he has had two successful title defenses. He mentions going all over the world. He says everyone is gunning for his title. It does not matter who it is, nobody comes out with this because he won’t let ya.
Carmelo Hayes makes his way to the ring.
Hayes asks if Knight is bragging about two successful title defenses. He says he should be bragging about carrying this show. You do what you always do and that is run your mouth. Instead of running your mouth, you should be looking at the scoreboard. He says he has won two straight over Andrade so that means he is next in line.
Knight says the two title defenses in one month is more than his predecessor in ten months. Knight says he only cares about winning.
Andrade’s music plays and he makes his way to the stage.
Andrade tells Hayes to be tranquilo. He says he knows that Hayes beat him twice but he also beat Hayes twice.
Hayes says no one remembers but Andrade says he remembers and everyone else remembers. Andrade asks Hayes if he thinks he deserves a title match? Hayes says he deserves this.
Knight says he doesn’t have time for it. Knight says if they want to fight over who gets dropped on their head next by him, go ahead.
Andrade says that championship was his. Andrade says he will be the next US Champion.
Knight tells Andrade to check his tone and use his inside voice.
Hayes pushes Andrade out of the way and Andrade pushes Hayes into Knight. Knight with BFT to Andrade.
Hayes stands over Andrade and he yells at him. Knight with BFT to Hayes.
We go to commercial.
– Waller and Theory walk in the back and they see Nick Aldis. Waller says since Nick makes matches all the time, why not put them in a tag match against Kevin Owens and anyone he can find. They walk away and Nick has a smile on his face.
Chelsea Green vs. Michin
Michin with arm drags as the match starts. Michin with a drop kick. Green gets into the ropes when Michin charges into the corner. Green with a shot to the ribs. Green with a knee to the midsection. Green with a kick tot he ribs and she surfs on Michin’s back. Green with a snap mare and a drop kick for a near fall. Michin with a rollup for a near fall. Michin with a head scissors take down followed by a clothesline and a thrust kick. MIchin with a drop kick. Michin blocks a kick and she chops Green and hangs her in the ropes and hits a Codebreaker. Michin sets for a power bomb but Piper gets on the apron and Michin is rolled up by Green for a near fall.
Green goes for UnprettiHER but Michin avoids it and sends Grene to the floor. Michin with a suicide dive. Piper walks up to Michin on the floor and Green with an enzuigiri and Michin falls to the floor. Niven with a back senton while Green distracts the referee. Green with UnprettiHER for the three count.
Winner: Chelsea Green

– Next week, Kevin Owens and a mystery partner face Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Andrade faces Carmelo Hayes in Match Five of a Who Knows How Many Match Series. Cody Rhodes defends the Undispute Title against Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage Match.
Backstage:
Byron Saxton is with DIY and the Street Profits. Byron asks if they will be on the same page because of what could happen. Johnny says they are not very close, but they respect each other. Ford says they both have issues. Both teams want the tag titles. Ciampa says the Bloodline is holding the tag titles hostage. No one wants that. Dawkins says they have been dealing with them for four years. If getting close to the tag titles mean teaming with you, they are fine with it.
Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Angelo Dawkins, and Montez Ford vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa
All eight pair off as the match starts until they isolate Fatu. Johnny with a jaw breaker to Fatu and Dawkins and Ford with a double drop kick to send him to the floor.
Dawkins punches Tonga and Dawkins with a jumping back elbow. Ford tags in and he hits a shoulder tackle and Dawkins flips Ford onto Tonga. Ford with a kick to the chest and he stares down Tama before hitting a splash for a near fall. Ford with another kick tot he back and he sends Tonga into the corner but Tonga with a clothesline. Tama tags in and he hits a head butt and he punches Ford. Tama with a punch but Ford land son his feet on a belly-to-back suplex. Johnny tags in and hits a slingshot spear. Johnny with an Irish whip and Ciampa tags in and he hits a running knee while Johnny connects with a kick. Fatu tags in and hits a back elbow. Fatu punches and head butts Ciampa. Fatu drops Ciampa on the top rope and he sends Ciampa to the floor. Solo tags in.
Solo sends Ciampa’s head into the announce table and then he sends him over the announce table and Corey leaps out of the way.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Fatu misses a shoulder in the corner and he goes into the ring post. Tonga tags in and he stops Ciampa but Ciampa with an enzuigiri. Tama tags in and Ciampa hits a suplex after a series of blocked suplex attempts. Solo tags in and Ciampa kicks Solo away and he tags in Dawkins and Johnny. They hit enzuigiris on Solo and Johnny with knees and Dawkins with a twisting splash. Johnny with a super kick to Tonga and Dawkins with one to Tama. They hit a double super kick on Fatu. Ford with a plancha. Dawkins with a twisting neck breaker on Solo for a near fall. Ciampa tags in and he sets for a knee but Solo with a uranage for a near fall while Dawkins hits a running shoulder tackle on the floor. Tama goes up top and Solo is pulled to the floor. Ciampa crotches Tama and he sets for a superplex onto everyone on the floor and the all fall down.
Ford sends Ciampa and Tama back into the ring since they are the legal men. Ford tags in and he goes u p top for a 450 splash and hits it but Fatu breaks up the cover. Fatu sends Ford into the ring post and Fatu pulls Tama into the corner to make the tag. Fatu with a super kick to Johnny and a pop up Samoan drop to Ciampa. Fatu with a super kick to Dawkins and he hits a splash and an Impaler DDT to Ford. Solo wants to be tagged in so he can take all of the glory. Solo with a Samoan Spike and a second one for the three count.
Winners: Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa
