Jon Moxley Explains BCC’s Betrayal of Bryan Danielson – At AEW All Out, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC shocked the wrestling world by turning on their Blackpool Combat Club ally, Bryan Danielson, after Danielson successfully defended his AEW Championship against Jack Perry. The betrayal came when Castagnoli landed a brutal uppercut on Danielson, followed by Moxley strangling him with a plastic bag, leaving fans in disbelief.
On the September 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, the show opened with a video package featuring Moxley addressing the attack. In his promo, Moxley expressed mixed emotions, stating that he wished he could still be standing side-by-side with Bryan Danielson. However, he quickly shifted tone, criticizing Danielson for lacking the stomach to continue their mission. Moxley reminded viewers of the Blackpool Combat Club’s core philosophy, emphasizing that Danielson’s approach, which favored patience and kindness, no longer aligned with their vision.
Moxley continued by venting his frustrations about the current state of AEW, claiming that ego-driven chaos is rampant throughout the company. He took a moment to mention that Danielson had always been William Regal’s favorite, but asserted that he wasn’t interested in being viewed as either a hero or a villain. Instead, Moxley boldly declared that he was destined by god to be the “one true king” of the wrestling landscape.
In closing, Moxley stated that they had tried doing things Danielson’s way, but it led to failure. He finished the promo by declaring that he chooses war, solidifying his new direction and the Blackpool Combat Club’s shift into a more aggressive, uncompromising faction.
Later in the show, the group attacked Komander and Private Party. PAC said that they had been very patient, but enough was enough. He stated that the company was broken. “The Bastard” brought up AEW All Out and said their actions were inevitable. He said that their group was a product of “this festering environment”. PAC said that he had been lost for a long time, but now he had a purpose. He stated that diplomacy had failed, and the company was theirs.
