Jey Uso Defeats Bron Breakker, Wins WWE Intercontinental Title – In the main event of the September 23 episode of WWE RAW, Jey Uso faced Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship and emerged victorious, marking a significant milestone in his career as he captured his first singles title in WWE.
With this victory, Jey Uso ended Bron Breakker’s reign as Intercontinental Champion, which lasted 52 days with only one successful defense since winning the title from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam.
The match kicked off with Jey establishing control early on, executing a waist lock into a side headlock. Breakker responded with a shoulder tackle, but Jey quickly regained momentum, sending Bron to the floor with a punch before delivering a suicide dive that crashed Bron into the announce table.
As the action continued, Jey maintained pressure with punches, but Breakker countered with a powerful slam and a series of aggressive moves, including hard Irish whips and a chin lock. The two competitors showcased their strength, trading suplex attempts until Bron managed to drop Jey onto the top rope, following up with a punch and a backbreaker for a near fall.
Jey fought back with a shoulder tackle and an enzuigiri, knocking Bron over the top rope. However, Bron halted Jey’s momentum with a punch and punished him by slamming his head into the announce table. The match turned intense as Bron utilized a rear chin lock, but Jey responded with a series of strikes, including a spit punch and a running hip attack that earned him a near fall.
As the match progressed, Jey climbed to the top rope but was met with Bron’s offense, including a double knee gutbuster. Jey countered with a pop-up Samoan drop and fought valiantly, hitting a superkick and a spear, but Bron retaliated with a flying clothesline and a press power slam for near falls.
The momentum swung back and forth, with Bron hitting a Wacky Spear on the floor. Jey countered Bron’s signature Warp Spear with a spear of his own, then ascended the turnbuckles to deliver a frog splash for another near fall. In a dramatic turn, Bron kicked Jey to the floor and attempted another Wacky Spear, only for Jey to intercept with a superkick.
Jey’s determination shone through as he executed a spear through the ringside barrier before bringing Bron back into the ring. He climbed to the top once more, connecting with a second frog splash to secure the three-count.
This match showcased intense back-and-forth action, highlighting both competitors’ resilience and athleticism, culminating in a significant victory for Jey Uso.
