Janel Grant’s Lawyer Claims ‘Mr. McMahon’ Only Scratches the Surface of Vince McMahon’s Criminal Behavior – The six-part documentary series titled “Mr. McMahon” is now available for streaming on Netflix, delving into the complex life and career of Vince McMahon. The documentary primarily features interviews conducted before the serious allegations of hush money and sexual misconduct that emerged in June 2022.
In January 2024, Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, accusing McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. Although her lawsuit is referenced in the documentary, Grant chose not to participate in an interview when approached by the production team.
Ann Callis, the attorney representing Grant, shared her insights on the docuseries. She stated, “The ‘Mr. McMahon’ docuseries makes it clear there is no difference between Vince McMahon’s on-air persona and his true self, they are one and the same. His “character” – known for violent outbursts, sexual deviance, and manipulation – is the real Vince McMahon and exactly what Janel Grant experienced behind closed doors at WWE for years.
While the docuseries put McMahon’s obsession with power and control on full display, it only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior and it fails to tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking of Ms. Grant. She deserves the opportunity to tell her story, on her own time, and in her own way. We look forward to her day in court and to seeing McMahon at last held accountable for his actions.”
The release of this documentary is timely, given the serious allegations surrounding McMahon and adds another layer to the ongoing discussions about accountability and the treatment of individuals within the wrestling industry.
As noted, Vince McMahon released a statement on the documentary on Monday.
