Bryan Danielson Reveals WWE Sent Legal Letter Over ‘YES’ Trademark Filing – Bryan Danielson applied to trademark the term ‘YES! YES! YES!’ on July 29th with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Danielson first got the chant over in WWE during his babyface run in 2013 after doing the NO! NO! NO! Chant while making his entrance. In 2014, his run was known as the YES movement heading into WrestleMania 30. He won the World Heavyweight and WWE Titles in the main event after overcoming Triple H to earn a spot in the triple threat bout with Randy Orton and Batista.
While speaking with Luke James Chats, Danielson noted he got a legal letter from WWE after filing for it.
Danielson stated, “Well, so, I applied for it, but then I got, it wasn’t necessarily a cease and desist. I got some sort of legal letter from WWE. Listen, it’s really weird because my manager texted me and said, ‘Hey, this thing is available. Do you want to get it?’ I was like, ‘How much does it cost?’ It wasn’t that much. ‘Okay, sure.’ Shortly after that, I got an email from WWE saying, ‘This is infringing on this or that or whatever.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not trying to sell anybody anything. I just do my thing.’”
Danielson added that it’s cool to be in the center of the moment where the fans are doing the chant with him. Danielson beat Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Heavyweight Title at All In and will defend it against Jack Perry at Saturday’s All Out.
