AEW Star Undergoes Successful Back Fusion Surgery – AEW star The Blade has recently undergone back fusion surgery after being sidelined for several months due to a lingering back injury. The Blade, who made his wrestling debut in 2000 and built a reputation on the independent scene, has competed for promotions like TNA (as Braxton Sutter), CZW, and ROH. In 2019, he joined AEW alongside The Butcher as part of a formidable tag team.
His last AEW/ROH appearance came in January, where he and his partner lost a tag team match to Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin) on ROH TV. A month later, he wrestled Kody Lane at the A1 Watch The Throne 7 – The Kings Are Back event.
In a recent Instagram post, The Blade shared an update on his recovery, stating, “Back fusion was a success. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. Means a lot to this Grizzled Vet Utility Brother.”
