AEW in Talks with Fox About Potential Deal

AEW in Talks with Fox About Potential Deal – AEW President Tony Khan has hinted that a new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery is on the horizon, but he has confirmed that no official agreement has been finalized yet. The recent trademark of “AEW Shockwave” has sparked speculation among fans about whether AEW might be eyeing the time slot previously occupied by WWE SmackDown on Fox.

According to Fightful Select, AEW has been in discussions with Fox about a potential deal. While Fox has not officially commented, the network is reportedly interested in the ad revenue generated by wrestling shows, though the cost of “SmackDown” proved too high. A more budget-friendly wrestling property could be an appealing option for Fox.

Adding to the speculation, AEW star Rush recently posted a photo on his Twitter/X account showing him beneath a Fox Sports logo, with the caption, “IF YOU MESS WITH THE BULL, YOU GET THE HORNS. NO PASA NADA PERROS,” which translates roughly to “Don’t worry, b****es.” This post has fueled rumors that AEW might be close to securing a deal with Fox, with fans playfully suggesting that Rush could be instrumental in finalizing the agreement.
