9/16 WWE RAW Results – We are live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, as CM Punk makes his way to the ring to start the show.
Punk says he is at a point in his career when some people ask him how many matches does he have in these old bones. He says depending on how you feel about him, it is either wildly disappointing or makes you happy because it is way more than you think. He said he didn’t come here to make friends but he didn’t expect to make a mortal enemy. The only way to end this between him and Drew McIntyre is in Hell in a Cell. He says he thought it was over when he touched four turnbuckles in Berlin. Drew tried to jump him in Chicago and drag his wife and dog into this mess. We probably all agree that it should have stopped the second time that Drew sent him to a hospital two weeks ago.
Punk says he is too damn stubborn. Drew’s fatal mistake in all of this is not getting the job done. Now things are drastically different. You can ask how many Hell in a Cell matches do you have left in you. Punk says the honest answer is zero. He says his little sister has asked him not to do this. He says his wife asked him not to do this. Maybe the angel on his shoulder begged him not to do this. Armed with all of that information, please allow him to tell you exactly why he is going to do this.
He said the last time in Portland, he told Drew if you push him too much he becomes the devil. Punk says the only way this ends is inside Hell in a Cell. The same heart that Drew promised to get to stop beating. He can’t promise that he won’t kill Drew because he cannot guarantee it. He says he will make Drew bleed. He promises that he will make Drew have to kill him. Punk says he is prepared to die and for his heart to stop beating. He says he had a great career and if this is the end, so be it. He says he is prepared for this to be the end of CM Punk. If you are prepared for this to be the end of Drew McIntyre, he says he will see Drew in Hell.
– We take a look at what has happened recently between Sheamus and Pete Dunne.
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is with Sheamus. She asks him about his feelings about facing Pete Dunne. Sheamus says he taught Pete too well. He hit him where it hurts. He isn’t talking about the physical damage. He took away his dream of becoming the Intercontinental Champion. He says it is time to inflict pain on his protege. He says don’t call Pete ‘Butch’ because he hates it. If you say it over and over again… Like any wrestling crowd, they chant ‘Butch’. Sheamus says tonight, Pete becomes his ‘Butch’.

Pete Dunne vs. Sheamus
Sheamus with a forearm and then they both throw punches at the same time. Sheamus has Pete in the ropes and he punches him. Pete with punches and chops but Sheamus with a uranage back breaker. Sheamus with a forearm to the back and a second one. Sheamus sends Pete over the top rope and Pete holds on. Sheamus sets for the forearms but Pete blocks it and Pete drops the arm on the top rope and shoulder. Sheamus with a uranage. Sheamus kicks Pete in the corner. Pete with a kick in the corner and a wrist lock as he puts the hand on the mat and stomps on the elbow and shoulder. Pete with a pescado onto Sheamus and Sheamus lands on the ring steps. Pete sets to stomp on the hand on the ring steps and he misses. Sheamus with a punch and an Alabama Slam onto the announce table.

We are back and Sheamus has Pete on the turnbuckles and he sets for a Super Air Raid Crash but Dunne counters into a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall. Sheamus tells Pete to listen to the crowd and Pete with a punch and elbows to Sheamus. Pete says something to Sheamus and Sheamus blocks a punch and traps the arm. Sheamus with a short arm clothesline. Sheamus with a running double sledge and a clothesline into the corner. Sheamus with a power slam. Sheamus goes up top and he pulls the knee pad down. Sheamus with a knee drop and he gets a near fall. Sheamus sets for a Celtic Cross but Dunne escapes and hits an enzuigiri. Dunne with a kick to the head and he goes up top.
Sheamus with a running European uppercut to stop Dunne. Sheamus sets for a power slam off the turnbuckles and he hits it. Sheamus gets a near fall. Dunne rolls to the apron. Pete goes for the fingers but Sheamus escapes and connects with many forearms. Pete grabs the shillelagh and Sheamus with a jumping knee. The shillelagh goes free and Sheamus picks it up. Dunne goes to the floor and the referee takes the shillelagh. Pete hits Sheamus with a cricket bat and Pete with a boot for the three count.
Winner: Pete Dunne
– We take a look at what happened last week with Damian Priest and The Judgment Day.
Backstage:
Priest and Rhea walk in the back and Jey stops them. Jey says he knows that Priest doesn’t want his help, but he will have his eyes on him. Xavier Woods shows up and he says that he hasn’t seen eye to eye with Priest but they have a tag title match tonight and they want to prove that they still have what it takes to become champions. He asks them to stay in the back. Priest tells Woods to whoop their asses and take their titles. Jey leaves and Rhea has a schoolgirl smile on her face.

Backstage:
We are back and Braun Strowman is in LOCKER ROOM and Miz shows up to wish him luck. Miz asks what did Braun mean by saying that Miz was no match for Bronson Reed. Miz says he has won every title. Braun says sometimes it takes a monster to beat a monster. Miz gets that he is no monster.
Natalya vs. Zoey Stark
They lock up and Natalya with a rollup for a near fall. They lock up and Zoey pie faces Natalya on the break and she pushes Natalya. Natalya floats over in the corner and Natalya blocks a hip toss and she takes down Zoey and gets a near fall. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter and Zoey gets to the ropes. Zoey drops Natalya on the top rope and kicks her. Zoey with a springboard drop kick and Natalya goes to the apron.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Zoey chops Natalya and goes to the apron and misses a springboard drop kick. Natalya with a discus clothesline and punches in the corner. The referee pulls Natalya out of the corner and Natalya blocks a punch and punches Zoey. Natalya blocks a kick and sends Zoey face first to the mat. Natalya with a kick and she gets a near fall. Zoey with an Irish whip and she misses a splash into the corner. Zoey blocks a slingshot atomic drop. Zoey with a rolling Death Valley Driver and thrust kick for a near fall. Zoey punches Natalya. Natalya avoids Z360 and they exchange near falls on rollups.
Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter but Zoey kicks Natalya and gets a near fall. Natalya with a rollup for the three count.
Winner: Natalya
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is in the back wtih Rhea Ripley. She asks Rhea about her match against Liv at Bad Blood and how is her knee. Finn Balor shows up and he says he has been meaning to catch up with her but with everything going on Damian. Rhea says Finn has a chance to talk now.
Finn says Rhea is just as bad as Damian. You said they were a family and that you cared, but you only cared about yourself. He says he hates her blaming him for anything. He says they are the reason he isn’t champion and that they aren’t champion. Rhea says they are not going to lie to her face and rewrite history to cover his ego problems. Rhea says they were a family and she tried to give everyone opportunities. If you want to make them the bad guys, so be it. At Bad Blood, everyone will see how bad they truly are. Finn says when Liv was putting the moves on Dom and Dom was trying to resist, Finn says he was the devil on Dom’s shoulder and she told him to go after Liv.
Jey Uso shows up and asks if there is a problem here. Finn says there is no problem and he tells Jey to focus on the IC title. Rhea tells Jey that Finn is right that Jey has to focus on the title match. Jey says he is on his way to the ring.

In the Arena:
We are back and Jey Uso makes his way to the ring.
We are told that Jey Uso will face Bron Breakker next week for the Intercontinental Championship.
Jey says he has his match with Bron Breakker and his first title match to be Intercontinental Champion. He says he wanted it when he came to Raw and then when he left the Bloodline. Now he can be on his own and win his first singles title.
Bron Breakker interrupts the Yeetathon and makes his way to the ring.
Bron wants to know if there are any dogs barking in Portland. He says he told Jey to stay away but here you are with this relentless pursuit of his championship. What you are doing is inspiring by trying to prove to everyone that you can do it by yourself. Bron says he did some homework since the last time they spoke. You have been here for fourteen years. You are a big star. They love you and love chanting yeet. The funny thing is that he has managed to do more as a singles star in six months than you have in your whole career.
Bron says the kicker is that he did it without his father or his uncle or anyone else. He didn’t need his family name. Bron says this title is his family and that is what he fights for. Bron says he is a dog and that is what he does. Next Monday, when they fight for this title, he will expose Jey because he is nothing without his family.
Jey looks Bron in the eye and he says he sees it in Bron. He says Bron has that dog in him. He says he won’t take Bron lightly. Jey says he has been on this roster for fourteen years winning championships while you were in diapers. Next week, they throw hands for the Intercontinental Championship. He says he will dog walk Bron’s ass. Jey says this could be short and sweet, like your NFL career.
Bron shows some anger as his face gets more orange. Bron turns around and he punches Jey. The jacket comes off and Bron goes for the Warp Spear but Jey wtih a spear of his own.
Backstage:
Bianca and Jade are in the back and Iyo Sky shows up and argues with Bianca for challenging Kairi because of her eye. She calls Bianca a coward. Bianca says she didn’t challenge anyone and she was booked for the match. She does not back down from a challenge. If Kairi is not 100 percent, why not face her instead. Iyo accepts the match.
The New Day make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.
WWE World Tag Team Championship
The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) (c) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)
JD kicks and punches Kofi followed by an Irish whip and Kofi with a head scissors off the turnbuckles. Kofi with a forearm and Woods tags in. Kofi with a kick followed by a clothesline from Woods. Kofi with a splash and Woods gets a near fall. Woods with a slam and Kofi tags in and Kofi gets on Woods’ shoulders and he hits a moonsault for a near fall. They kick FInn and hit a double bulldog. They hit a double super kick on JD and Finn to send them to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Finn with an Irish whip to Kofi and Kofi with a forearm to JD but Finn with a chop. Both men are down . JD and Woods tag in and Woods with clotheslines to everyone. Woods with a rolling elbow to JD. Woods with a forearm in the corner and he punches JD from the turnbuckles. Woods punches Finn off the apron. JD with a kick and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Woods lands on his feet and hits a side Russian leg sweep. Kofi with a springboard clothesline and he htis a flip dive onto Finn on the floor. JD goes for a power bomb but Woods escapes and counters with a power bomb of his own for a near fall.
Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and Carlito come out to ringside and the LWO attack them.
JD with a rollup for a near fall. Woods with a thrust kick and Kofi goes up top and the referee warns him as he hits a trust fall. Woods with an elbow drop and the referee is on the floor because that isn’t part of the match. Liv argues with the referee and Woods comes out and wants to know what is going on with the referee.
They return to the ring and Woods argues with the referee some more. Finn makes the blind tag while Woods hits an O’Connor Roll. JD holds Woods for Coup de Grace and the three count.
Winners: JD McDonagh and Finn Balor
After the match, Woods yells at Kofi and says every time. Kofi wants to know what his deal is. Woods says something has to change.

– We are back with a Moments Ago Moment of the Day ending for the New Day?
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is with Kofi but he walks away. Kofi says he has to find Woods.
Woods is yelling at the LWO for getting involved. Kofi says he told them to help out. Woods says they cost them the titles. Kofi says he asked them to have their backs if the Judgment Day played the numbers game. Woods says they never needed help and Kofi says it was because they had E. Woods wants to know if they aren’t good enough when it is just the two of them. Woods wants to know why the LWO knew the plan while his tag team partner didn’t know.
Backstage:
We have a video package for Bronson Reed. He wants to tell a story about a monster. He says he has had opportunities taken away from him because he was considered a danger and a hazard. He had enough and he showed how dangerous he is. He metions who he took care of and then when he got COVID, they gave his chance to Braun Strowman? He is going to finish the story with Braun. Braun will be the victim to the true monster of WWE.
We go to commercial.
Bronson Reed vs. Braun Strowman
Reed pulls off the top rope off the ring post when he misses a splash when Braun enters the ring. Braun with a choke slam. Braun with a boot to send Reed to the floor. The referee checks on Reed and Braun says it is time for the Wacky Lap and Reed throws a fan at Braun. Braun gets back up and hits a cross body through the poorest constructed portion of the ringside barrier.
The referee calls for medical assistance.
Braun gets back into the ring while Bronson is escorted to the back. Braun says something and Bronson sees Braun in the ring. Braun runs to Reed and hits a running shoulder tackle into a production case. Reed punches Braun as they fight through the back. Braun tosses Reed into the wall and production cases. Braun throws security and then he kills a camera. Reed with a cross body through a table. Braun with a spear through some dry wall.
The referees call for some more medical assistance.
We go to commercial.
– We are back and people are going through the rubble and yelling over each other to see if Bronson and Braun are okay.
Backstage:
Adam Pearce is on the phone and Ludwig Kaiser enters the room. He asks if Pearce has found a suitable opponent for Gunther. Pearce talks about what happened with Reed and Braun. Kaiser says that Gunther is more important. Pearce says that Sami Zayn has made a good case for a title match. Pearce says if Gunther has a problem with Zayn, he should talk to Pearce in person.
In the Arena:
Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring. Sami says he is standing in the middle of the ring in front of a hot crowd. All week, he has been locked in the memory of standing in the ring with Bret Hart in Calgary. He meant everything he said last week so it was emotional. Last week was very motivational. He says he listened to Bret Hart say what it meant to be a champion and a true Canadian champion. All he could think is that he wanted that to be him. He says he needs it to be him. He says he needs to become the World Champion. He says he needs to be the guy who defends the title in the ring, week in and week out, against every opponent who comes his way.
Unfortunately, our current World Champion, Gunther, has repeatedly declined every time that he has challenged Gunther for a World Title Match. Gunther says it is because Sami is not on his level. Sami says he doesn’t believe that. Sami says Gunther doesn’t believe that either. He says he is in Gunther’s head and he remembers what happened at Wrestlemania. Sami says he knows if they do it again for the World Title, he knows that he has beaten Gunther before and he can beat him again. Sami says he thinks that Gunther is scared.
Ludwig Kaiser makes his way to the ring as he prepares for his spot on Sprockets.
Kaiser wants to know what is Sami doing here. Why him? What are you doing in the middle of the ring, asking for a World Title Match against Gunther? What is that nonsense about Gunther being scared of you? Why would he? Gunther is the most dominant force in the WWE and he is trying to protect and save Sami from the worst embarrassment of his life.
You want to talk about Wrestlemania? It was the greatest night of your career. For the first and only time he saw Sami’s family looking up at him instead of looking down at him. Miracles don’t happen twice. He tells Sami to take it and run with it and enjoy it because it will never ever happen again.
Sami says he finds it strange that Kaiser is speaking for Gunther because Gunther doesn’t need Kaiser to speak for him or for anything at all. Sami says Kaiser doesn’t need Gunther. Sami says Kaiser has the desire to prove himself. That is why you broke up with Vinci. You are looking to stand on your own two feet. Are you going to earn respect as Gunther’s mouthpiece? If you want to come out and say something to his face, say it. You don’t have to speak for Gunther. If you are going to come out here, have the balls to speak for yourself.
Gunther’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Gunther looks at Kaiser and then he says he will answer Sami’s challenge in a moment. He asks Kaiser if there is anything he needs to tell him.
Kaiser says there is something he has been trying to get off his chest for a very long time. Kaiser with a clothesline to Sami and he punches Sami. Kaiser with a twisting reverse DDT. Kaiser holds Sami.
Gunther tells Sami regarding his challenge for his title, the answer is and will remain NO.
Gunther and Kaiser hug very efficiently. Gunther leaves the ring and Sami grabs Kaiser by the leg. Gunther tells Kaiser to have fun. Sami escapes the twisting reverse DDT and hits a German suplex. Sami with a Helluva Kick.
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is with Damian Priest and she asks him about his match against Dom and if there is any issue facing someone who was considered family. Liv Morgan shows up and she tells Cathy to leave. She says that Priest is already a has been. Liv says she wishes Priest could hear what they are saying about him and Rhea. Liv says it is a bit embarrassing. Priest says he can’t believe someone in Judgment Day has a set but she better protect them because Rhea will shove them down your throat. He tells Liv to give Dom a goodbye kiss because he is going to put Dom down.

Bianca Belair vs. Iyo Sky
They lock up and Bianca with a side head lock take down and Iyo with a head scissors and Bianca escapes. Iyo with a side head lock take down and Bianca with a head scissors and Iyo escapes. They get a series of near falls. Both go for drop kicks at the same time and get back to their feet. Bianca with a waist lock and Iyo with a standing switch. Iyo with a cartwheel past Bianca and Bianca with a round off and she taunts Iyo. Bianca blocks a rana and Iyo with a sunset flip for a near fall. Iyo with a chop. Bianca floats over after an Irish whip and she goes to the opposite turnbuckle and taunts Iyo. Bianca with a marching delayed vertical suplex. Bianca misses a handspring moonsault when Iyo moves. Iyo with a springboard arm drag.

We are back and Iyo with a crossface and Bianca lifts up Iyo to escape the hold. Bianca with a rollup for a near fall. Bianca with a shoulder tackle or two followed by a drop kick. Bianca with a running shoulder into the corner and then she climbs the turnbuckles to punch Iyo. Iyo escapes but Bianca kicks Iyo away and she flips over Iyo. Iyo with a few Shotei and a drop kick. Iyo with a running double knee strike and she sets for a power bomb but Bianca with a back body drop but Iyo lands on her feet. Bianca with a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster. Iyo with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Bianca and Iyo exchange forearms. Iyo with a kick and she gets a near fall with a sunset flip. Bianca hot shots Iyo into the turnbuckle and then hits a spinebuster. Bianca with a handspring moonsault for a near fall.
Bianca kicks Iyo in the corner and she puts Iyo on the turnbuckles for a press slam. Iyo gets back to her feet and Iyo with a dead lift German suplex for a near fall. Bianca with a shoulder from the apron and Bianca tries to suplex Iyo to the floor but Iyo drops Bianca on the top rope and Iyo with a suicide dive. Bianca tries to suplex Iyo on the ring steps and she carries Iyo to the apron and drops her in the ring. Bianca goes up top and goes for a 450 splash but Iyo gets her knees up. Iyo goes for the moonsault but Bianca gets up and goes for KOD but Iyo counters with an inside cradle for the three count.
Winner: Iyo Sky
– Rhea stops by to make sure that Priest is going to rip Dom apart and Priest says he is going to continue to destroy The Judgment Day.

– We are back with American Made and Chad Gable says after everything he has been through, you thought he would be gone. Julius says they are no longer involved with the Wyatts. Chad says you can’t kill him or the American spirit or American Made. Ivy says they are done with those freaks. Chad says they don’t quit or surrender. They make history.
Backstage:
Cathy Kelley is in the back with Ludwig Kaiser. Kaiser says all that matters is that he talked to Adam Pearce. He says he is going to expose Sami Zayn in the ring next week. He questioned his past. Kaiser says Sami needs to remember Kevin Owens and that they turned on each other when one of them got more success than the other. You are jealous of your best friend. You are never going to be a World Champion.
– Next week, Sami Zayn faces Ludwig Kaiser. Drew McIntyre will be on Raw next week. Bron Breakker defends the Intercontiental Championship against Jey Uso.
Backstage:
Jey Uso walks in the back and Ilja Dragunov stops him. He wishes Jey the best of luck next week. Ilja and Jey ‘yeet’ each other.
The Judgment Day stop by and talk to Ilja about being close to Jey and that he was praising Damian and Rhea. Finn tells Ilja he needs to think about who his friends are. Ilja says he respects Damian, Rhea, and Jey and that is more than he can say for them. Finn tells Ilja this is a friendly reminder and the next time, the message won’t be so polite. They have to take care of one of Ilja’s friends.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Damian Priest
Priest with a shoulder tackle and he tosses Dom into the corner and connects with a punch. Priest with an Irish whip and he picks up Dom by the throat and drops him to the mat. Priest with shoulders to send Dom to the mat. Priest with a jumping back elbow and he gets a near fall. Priest with a chop to Dom. Priest goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Dom lands on his feet and he kicks Priest in the injured knee. Priest blocks an Irish whip and Priest sends Dom face first into the mat. Priest kicks Dom in the corner and the referee warns him. Priest chokes Dom in the ropes in front of his allies. Priest has some words for Finn and Dom with punches. Priest with a forearm and Dom goes down.
Priest sets for a Razor’s Edge but Finn distracts Priest to allow Dom to get to the floor. Priest goes to the apron and he gets Dom up and hot shots him on the apron. Priest forces Carlito to back up and Priest sends Dom into the announce table. Priest with a forearm and he connects with a forearm to Carlito. Priest sends Dom back into the ring and Finn sends Priest into the ring post while the referee and cameraman weren’t looking. Dom sends Priest into the announce table.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Dom sends Priest into the corner and then Priest misses a splash in the corner. Dom with a tornado DDT and Dom gets a near fall. Dom poses and then he punches Priest. Dom with more forearms and a chop. Priest is angry and he gets back to his feet. Priest with punches and kicks followed by a discus punch and another punch. Priest with an elbow into the corner and a leaping flatliner for a near fall. Priest signals for a clothesline and Finn gets on the apron to distract Priest. Dom with a rollup for a near fall. Priest with a round kick to the temple followed by a Falcon Arrow but Liv puts Dom’s foot on the rope to stop the count.
Rhea spears Liv over the announce table into Wade Barrett. Pirest with a punch off the ring steps to Carlito. Dom with a suicide dive but Priest catches him and he tosses Dom into Finn. Priest with a thrust kick to Carlito. Dom kicks Priest and drop kicks Priest into the ropes. Dom with a 619 and he goes up top for a frog splash but he lands on his feet and rolls through. Priest with a clothesline. Priest wtih South of Heaven for the three count.
Winner: Damian Priest
After the match, JD, Carlito, and Finn attack Priest. Rhea grabs Dom from the apron but Liv pulls Rhea off the apron and she sends Rhea into the ring steps. Liv kicks Rhea and Carlito holds Priest.
Jey Uso’s music plays and all activity in the ring stops and Jey stands at ringside. Bron Breakker in a hoodie spears Jey.
Meanwhile back in the ring, the attacks on Rhea and Priest continue. Finn goes up top and Liv with ObLIVion to Rhea while Finn hits Coup de Grace on Priest. Finn goes up top again and hits another Coup de Grace.
We go to credits.
