Uncle Howdy Defeats Chad Gable in In-Ring Debut

Uncle Howdy Defeats Chad Gable in In-Ring Debut – In the main event of the August 26 episode of WWE RAW, Uncle Howdy made his in-ring debut against Chad Gable and secured a victory in a hard-fought match.

The match began with a lock-up, and Uncle Howdy used his size advantage to land some knees and then dance provocatively. Chad Gable responded with a double thrust to the throat, asserting his fearlessness. Howdy retaliated with a clothesline and a power slam, followed by another clothesline, sending Gable to the floor.

After a commercial break, Gable regained control by sending Howdy to the mat and climbing to the top rope. However, Gable missed a diving headbutt when Howdy moved out of the way. The two wrestlers exchanged punches, with Gable eventually gaining the upper hand. He executed an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, sending Howdy over the top rope. Gable then followed up with a crossbody off the turnbuckles onto Howdy on the floor.

Back in the ring, Gable attempted a Wacky Line, but Howdy countered with a back body drop on the floor. Howdy followed up with a running hip into the ringside barrier and sent Gable over the announce table. After a failed suplex attempt, Gable countered with an Olympic Slam onto the table.

Gable returned to the ring, hoping for a faster count from the referee. Howdy beat the count and Gable tried to capitalize with kicks. Gable placed Howdy on the turnbuckles and set up for a Frankensteiner, but Howdy countered. Gable executed a Super Exploder for a near fall, followed by a German suplex series, holding on for a third. With the straps down, Gable awaited Howdy’s return, setting up for Chaos Theory, but Howdy held onto the turnbuckles and countered with a uranage for another near fall.

Howdy then took control with an elbow in the corner, an Irish whip, and a clothesline. He followed with a hanging swinging neck breaker and prepared for Sister Abigail. Ivy Nile intervened, distracting the referee, which allowed Howdy to apply the Mandible Claw. During the chaos, Brutus and Julius Creed attempted to intervene but were sent into the timekeeper’s area and ringside by Lumis, Gacy, and Rowan.

Ivy Nile tried to fight off Rowan with a rear naked choke, but Rowan continued his assault with Ivy on his back. Meanwhile, Chad Gable managed to send Howdy back into the ring and attempted a moonsault, landing on his feet after a missed attempt. Despite Gable’s efforts, Howdy executed Sister Abigail for the three-count.

The show closed with Uncle Howdy celebrating over Chad Gable’s defeated body.

It was noted on commentary that the gauntlet on Howdy’s arm was made from pieces of Bray Wyatt’s gear.

This was Uncle Howdy’s official in-ring debut. He was previously part of the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match at WWE Royal Rumble 2023, jumping from a scaffold onto LA Knight. This was Dallas’ first match since 2019 when he competed in a six-man tag at a live event. Chad Gable (Shorty G) was on the opposite team in that bout.

This was Dallas’ first televised match WWE Crown Jewel 2019.
