TNA Suspends Rich Swann, Rehab Bound After Second Arrest

TNA Suspends Rich Swann, Rehab Bound After Second Arrest – Rich Swann was reportedly arrested on June 8 in Altamonte Springs, Florida, as confirmed by Post Wrestling. The charges against him include disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance, both of which are classified as misdemeanors.

The report indicates that TNA Wrestling was made aware of the situation only after being contacted by Post Wrestling. Following the incident, Swann has decided to enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program, which he communicated to TNA. The company has since suspended him pending the results of their investigation into the matter.

“TNA Wrestling takes all charges against its performers with utmost seriousness,” read an official statement from the company. “Rich Swann is accountable for his own actions.”

According to the police report, a local resident called authorities after hearing a “loud banging” on their front door while in the shower. The resident, concerned for their safety, shouted that they had a gun and demanded that the person at the door leave. Swann reportedly responded by saying, “This is my house.” When the resident opened the door to confront Swann with the gun, Swann eventually left, prompting the resident to call the police. It’s believed that Swann may have mistakenly approached the wrong door, as it was close to his own residence.

In a separate incident reported by another woman in the same neighborhood, Swann allegedly followed her and refused to stop when asked. The woman said she ran to her door with Swann in pursuit, but she managed to get inside before he could reach her. When police arrived, they found Swann in the area, appearing incoherent and heavily intoxicated, with slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Swann admitted to having consumed “a lot” of alcohol earlier that evening.

This incident follows a previously unreported arrest in 2022, where Swann was accused of causing a disturbance while intoxicated at his apartment complex. He was fined $351.49 as a result of that incident, according to Post Wrestling.

Swann’s legal troubles date back to 2017 when he was charged with felony false imprisonment and simple domestic battery involving his wife, Su Yung. The charges, which stemmed from an incident where Swann allegedly attempted to force Yung back into a car after a dispute, were eventually dropped due to a lack of sufficient evidence. However, this earlier incident led to Swann being released from his contract with WWE.
