Seth Rollins Set for Another Hiatus Due to Injury – Seth Rollins is once again stepping away from WWE due to injury. The top WWE star previously took time off after WrestleMania 40, where he lost the WWE World Heavyweight Title to Drew McIntyre, who in turn dropped it to Damian Priest after a successful Money in the Bank cash-in. Rollins underwent knee surgery during his hiatus and made his return only a few weeks ago.
On this week’s episode of Raw, Rollins was written off television following a brutal attack by Bronson Reed, who delivered multiple splashes to Rollins in a segment that received significant praise from fans. This storyline development appears to be a cover for Rollins needing more time to recover from lingering injuries.
Additionally, Dakota Kai, who was scheduled to face Sonya Deville on the same episode of Raw, was also written out of the show after being attacked by Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Deville. Kai is reportedly dealing with an injury as well.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the attacks on Rollins and Kai were designed to write them off TV due to their respective injuries. Meltzer noted that while Rollins is cleared to wrestle, he is still banged up, making this an opportune time for him to take another break.
“I don’t know how serious. All I heard….I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries, and I was told they both were. But Seth is not a bad situation like Seth is cleared. He could wrestle, but, you know, he’s banged up, and so it was a good time for him to take time off and do this. So I don’t know if he’ll be back for the pay-per-view against Bronson Reed. Obviously, he’s going to wrestle Bronson Reed.”
Bryan Alvarez added, “He shouldn’t be back for a while after that beating,” indicating that Rollins may be out of action for an extended period before returning to face Reed.
