Multiple Titles Change Hands on 8/13 NXT – Charlie Dempsey has brought the NXT Heritage Cup Championship back to the No Quarter Catch Crew with much help from Wren Sinclair.
Dempsey defeated Tony D’Angelo two falls to one. While D’Angelo went up 1-0, Wren Sinclair slapped the passion back into Charlie, and he recovered and scored his first fall with a jackknife pin.
D’Angelo would recover and set up Charlie for a Superplex from the top rope. Still, Sinclair got involved again, tripping D’Angelo so that he fell from the top rope and allowing Charlie to hit a Butterfly Suplex Pin to recapture the cup.
Tony D’Angelo held the cup for 92 days, defeating Charlie for the cup on May 14 and defending it four times.
In the main event of the August 13th episode of NXT, Ridge Holland and Andre Chase beat Axiom and Nathan Frazer to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. Holland scored the win by slamming Axiom to the mat.
The two teams battled it back and forth in a hard-fought bout.
In the end, Andre Chase knocked Frazer off the top, sending him crashing to the outside. Axiom hit Chase with a Golden Ratio, but Holland floored him with a clothesline and slammed him for the win.
Chase U then celebrated their victory, and confetti rained down in a triumphant moment.
With the win, Holland won his first title in WWE; he joined the company in 2018. This reign marks Chase U’s second run with the gold; Andre Chase and Duke Hudson previously held the titles.
The loss brings Axiom and Frazer’s reign to an end at 127 days. They won the gold by beating Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin on the April 9th episode of NXT.
