Finn Balor Forms New Judgment Day – On the August 5 episode of WWE Raw, Damian Priest confronted Finn Balor, seeking retribution for his interference at WWE SummerSlam that cost Priest the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. Priest expressed his sense of betrayal, lamenting that Balor, once like family to him, had turned his back. He declared that his new allegiance was to the fans.
In response, Balor appeared on the big screen and brought up their history, recalling the events of SummerSlam 2023 when Priest had come to ringside with his Money in the Bank briefcase during Balor’s match against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Title. Balor accused Priest of telling him to “man up,” and now, he was prepared to do just that, but through JD McDonagh rather than facing Priest himself. Balor hinted at a more insidious plan, vowing to strike when Priest least expected it and to repeatedly stab him in the back.
Balor then introduced his new version of the Judgment Day, which now includes himself, Carlito, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, and Liv Morgan. This new lineup came after the group’s dramatic disintegration at SummerSlam, where Balor’s interference led to Priest’s loss and Dominik Mysterio’s betrayal of Rhea Ripley to ally with Liv Morgan.
