Eric Bischoff Says MJF Is a “Freaking Savant” as a Heel – Eric Bischoff recently shared his thoughts on MJF’s heel turn and performance in AEW during an episode of his 83 Weeks podcast. Bischoff praised MJF for his impressive work as a heel, especially considering his young age and relatively limited experience in the industry. Despite being in his 20s and only having been with AEW for five years, Bischoff noted that MJF has demonstrated remarkable skill, even with a limited number of matches and time off due to injury.
Bischoff went on to describe MJF as a “savant as a heel,” emphasizing that his abilities in that role are exceptional. While he expressed uncertainty about how MJF might fare as a babyface, Bischoff was confident in MJF’s talent as a classic heel, particularly in the modern wrestling landscape. He also commended MJF’s work as the American Champion leading up to AEW All In and complimented his ring gear at the event.
“I wouldn’t say he’s like a superstar right now. What is he? 12, 14? He’s in his 20s … think about how good he is at such a young age with such limited experience. He’s been in AEW for five years. There’s not a lot of house shows on his schedule, there’s not a lot of reps on his schedule, he was injured for quite a while, and he’s back overcoming an injury. Good to be 28 years old, that helps but still my point is that this guy, he’s a savant as a heel. I don’t know if he’d be any good as a babyface, but as a heel he’s like a freaking savant.”
However, Bischoff was critical of Will Ospreay’s Assassin’s Creed-inspired entrance at AEW All In in Wembley . He found it illogical for Ospreay to represent Japan, given that the event was held in his hometown of London, England. Despite this, Bischoff’s overall assessment of MJF was highly positive, acknowledging the significant impact he’s made in AEW in a short period.
