Cody Rhodes Segment Announced for SmackDown – WWE has added an exciting new segment to tonight’s episode of SmackDown as the company continues its build-up to the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event (PLE).
The show will feature two title matches, with the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga), defending their titles against The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). This match is particularly noteworthy as it marks Jacob Fatu’s first in-ring appearance in several weeks. Fatu had been off TV, selling a foot injury sustained at SummerSlam, but made a shocking return last week when he blindsided Roman Reigns in a surprise attack.
Another championship bout scheduled for the night is WWE United States Champion LA Knight defending his title against Santos Escobar. Additionally, a six-woman tag team match will see Naomi, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair taking on Blair Davenport, Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn.
In addition to these matches, WWE has officially confirmed a segment involving Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. This segment was set up after Grayson Waller took to social media on Thursday, urging fans to see Rhodes as the villain in his own story. Rhodes responded by inviting Waller to join him on SmackDown for a face-to-face conversation.
WWE confirmed this segment earlier today, and more announcements are expected in the lead-up to tonight’s show.
