Booker T Discusses Tony Khan and Shane McMahon’s Meeting – Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed the meeting between AEW CEO Tony Khan and Shane McMahon. He noted that the idea of Shane McMahon potentially doing something with AEW was not unbelievable. Booker T also highlighted McMahon’s love for wrestling.
“Nothing surprises me in this business, it really doesn’t,” he said. “Could I believe that Tony Khan reached out to Shane McMahon perhaps for some expert knowledge, expertise, perhaps way to run the business? I could see that. It’s all about trying to move to the next level. Do Shane McMahon need a check? I don’t think so.
“But I still think, in life, you don’t want to just hang up the boots when you don’t have to. If you can still be a part of something that you love and somebody’s gonna pay you a whole lot of money to do it, you gonna pick the check up, no matter how much money you got in the bank. It’s not smart to leave money on the table. That’s Just me. So I definitely could see something like that happening. It’s not something that’s unbelievable.
Booker T went on to note that one has to expect the unexpected in wrestling. He then reiterated that he was not surprised by the rumors about Shane McMahon.
“This business, there’s always gonna be something that we’re gonna be talking about,” Booker T said. “So for me, I’m not surprised one bit. This is something that we’ve been hearing about for quite some time, though. I’m not surprised, not one bit.
