Hangman Adam Page Returns in AEW Owen Hart Tournament – “Hangman” Adam Page made his return to AEW at Dynamite “Beach Break”, and he’s now one step closer to getting his hands on longtime rival, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, after defeating Jeff Jarrett as the Wild Card entrant in the Owen Hart Cup semi-finals.
Page moves on to face Jay White in Memphis on “AEW Collision” on Saturday, and the winner will advance to face off against Bryan Danielson on “Dynamite” next week. Page had been missing from AEW programming for weeks following his failed Revolution title shot, and the time off was reportedly due to a family matter.
Later in the show, The Young Bucks approached Hangman Page in a backstage segment. After exchanging hugs, the Bucks told Page they would continue to have his back as long as he reciprocated. They mentioned needing a fifth teammate for the upcoming AEW Blood & Guts event.
However, the interaction took a tense turn when Hangman abruptly grabbed Matt Jackson by the collar. He asserted that he was not a puppet and refused to be part of any more of their games. Hangman emphasized his focus on the Owen Hart Cup, declaring his intention to win it, before storming off.
Earlier in the night, Bryan Danielson was the first to advance, making it to the finals of the men’s tournament after defeating PAC. The two exchanged pinfall attempts until Danielson ended up succeeding. Later in the night, Hangman Page returned after being gone for several months and defeated Jeff Jarrett to advance to the semifinals, scoring the win following the deadeye.
Page will next face Jay White this Saturday on Collision. The winner of that match will face Danielson in the finals.
