Sammy Guevara Included in Creative Plans – Fans have been curious about the whereabouts of AEW star Sammy Guevara in recent months and when Tony Khan will bring him back to television.
The answer seems to be imminent, as Sammy Guevara is set to return after a hiatus following his suspension due to an incident with Jeff Hardy in February during a Rampage match. During the bout, Hardy was injured after taking a knee to the head from Guevara’s shooting star press, resulting in a broken nose. Despite finishing the match after Hardy insisted he was okay, Hardy has not wrestled since.
Guevara’s suspension was due to not following concussion protocol. AEW had to revise their plans, which originally involved pairing Guevara with Chris Jericho in the Tag Team Title tournament. The tournament was eventually won by The Young Bucks.
Last month, Dave Meltzer reported that creative plans had been pitched for Guevara. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select mentioned in a Q&A session that Guevara’s return is expected soon, stating, “Yeah, he’s factored into creative plans pretty soon, from what I understand.”
