Becky Lynch Officially Enters Free Agency

Becky Lynch Officially Enters Free Agency – At the stroke of midnight on June 1, 2024, Lynch’s WWE contract expired, making Becky Lynch a free agent for the first time in 11 years. Her previous WWE deal, a three-year extension signed in 2021, came to an end following the events of Friday night. The last time Lynch was a free agent was in 2013.

WWE seemed to conclude Lynch’s current run by having her lose the women’s world title to Liv Morgan at WWE King And Queen Of The Ring 2024. She also fell short in a rematch on this week’s WWE Raw.

According to Fightful Select, WWE was aware that Lynch planned to take time off even before she captured her latest women’s world title. Despite this knowledge, they decided it was best for the storyline to have her win the championship. There were no concerns about Lynch’s professionalism, as she remained committed to “doing business” until the very end.

Although no last-minute agreement was reached, WWE has expressed interest in working with Lynch in the future. Lynch was described as a “class act” throughout the negotiations and had informed WWE of her plans to take time off.

Currently, neither WWE nor those close to Lynch expect her to sign with another promotion. However, as a free agent, she is likely to receive substantial offers, potentially the largest ever for a woman in professional wrestling history.
