Will Ospreay Criticizes WWE's Use of Ricochet

Will Ospreay Criticizes WWE’s Use of Ricochet – Although Will Ospreay signed with AEW despite being in talks with WWE, he is still keeping up with what the other promotion is doing, including how the company is using one star that he has a history with.

That star is Ricochet, who worked with Ospreay in the 2010s and put on some incredible matches. However, Ospreay is admittedly a little sad about how WWE uses Ricochet. While speaking with Comic Book, Opsreay said he hopes Ricochet is really happy but feels that people forget who Ricochet was once upon a time.

Ospreay brought up WWE using Ricochet for the WWE Speed show on X, where matches are under five minutes. Ricochet became the inaugural WWE Speed Champion.

“The fact that they only value his time for under five minutes is appalling to me,” Ospreay said. “I just want people to remember who he is. If you go and look at 2012-2013 Dragon Gate Ricochet, he was untouchable at the time. I don’t know how much longer he has got in his contract, but I think it might be up soon, man, I don’t know, maybe. I want him to know that there are people here that genuinely appreciate his work and I want to wrestle him again. I want him back here. I want him to know that there isn’t a bar. You are the f*cking bar.”

Ospreay did note that he wants to see Ricochet get more time to showcase the ability that he saw in him. He called him one of the best going.

Ospreay said, “If the opportunity presents itself, I think he should bet on himself. I think he should remind himself that he’s one of the best high-flyers to ever do it. If it means he’s got to come for me, then do it, boss, because I’m right here waiting for you.”

Ospreay will challenge AEW International Champion Roderick Strong at Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event.
