Kenny Omega Underwent Surgery to Treat Diverticulitis – According to Fightful Select, AEW star Kenny Omega has undergone surgery to treat his diverticulitis, according to a report.
The report states that Omega had surgery on Thursday, May 16 in the New York area.
Omega had previously revealed in a Twitch stream that he was set to undergo surgery “very, very, very soon.” Omega said:
“I have a wonderful doctor that I was able to find. And he is someone who is the top — the top of his field,” Omega said. “And he is very hard to get appointments with and he’s very hard to get surgeries with. However, he has done me a solid and I will actually be getting surgery very, very, very soon.”
Omega has been out of action since December while suffering from diverticulitis. He had been announced for a tag team bout at December’s Worlds End pay-per-view, but was pulled from the show due to the illness.
Omega returned as a TV character on the May 1 edition of Dynamite, including participating in an angle where he was laid out by The Elite. He then appeared on the next week’s Dynamite to announce the Anarchy in the Arena match set for this Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
