Major Title Match Expected for WWE Clash at the Castle – As WWE rapidly approaches its next Premium Live Event (PLE), King and Queen of the Ring, later this month, the company is also gearing up for Clash at the Castle at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
The King and Queen of the Ring PLE will showcase several high-profile matches, including the finals of the tournament, WWE Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan, WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable, and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul.
Interestingly, the event will not feature a title defense from World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. Instead, WWE is holding off on Priest’s next title defense against Drew McIntyre. On a recent episode of Raw, Priest announced that McIntyre would receive the next title shot once he’s medically cleared. McIntyre, who has been dealing with a hyperextended elbow from his WrestleMania match, has continued to appear on television but is not participating in house shows.
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, the match between McIntyre and Priest is expected to happen, aligning with fan speculation.
Additionally, there is potential for CM Punk to get involved in this storyline. Punk, who is anticipated to return to in-ring action in the coming months, may interfere and cost Priest the title to further their feud. At Backlash France, Priest successfully retained his title over Jey Uso with assistance from Judgment Day, suggesting ongoing tensions that could lead to significant developments in the coming events.
