Reason Behind WWE Taping NXT Episodes – The WWE NXT crew is scheduled to have a brief hiatus from their weekly live television program on the USA Network, which typically airs on Tuesday nights from the Performance Center.
Coming off the excitement of last Sunday’s Vengeance Day PLE, highlighted by Carmelo Hayes’ surprising heel turn by assaulting Trick Williams, NXT has lined up an array of matches for next week’s episode. These include clashes such as NXT Tag Team Champions The Family (Tony D’Angelo & Stacks) facing Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners The Wolf Dogs (Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin), Von Wagner & Mr. Stone taking on Noam Dar & Oro Mensah, Kiana James squaring off against Brinley Reece, and Adriana Rizzo going head-to-head with Jaida Parker.
However, instead of a live broadcast, next Tuesday’s WWE NXT will be a double taping session, aimed at creating content for two episodes. The February 13th episode will be aired live before the subsequent week’s show is taped.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, the reason behind this taped format is due to tryouts taking place in Perth, Australia. Key personnel from NXT will be departing before the February 20th show for these tryouts, coinciding with WWE’s visit to Perth for the Elimination Chamber PLE. As a result, NXT will resume its live broadcasts on February 27th.
